XP loss to make level 100 an achievement
"I had enough time to farm my way to 100 by playing it safe" is not an achievement. It's a treadmill. Anyone with enough time can get it, and all it really says is "I have lots of time to devote to this."
Beating challenging content that takes dozens of attempts to learn is an achievement, because it's skill based. PoE2 is actively designed against this kind of gameplay though, with the way you're actively punished for attempting something that you can't beat in one attempt in numerous ways (XP loss, map loss, etc). This kind of gameplay is the exact opposite of what you build to create a scenario where its an achievement to do something. |

" Yeah, on a technical perspective, this is only a few lines of code on the UI and the mechanics itself. |

" Ya, im one of the supporters of the xp penalty. But man is that part mapping getting tiring. I used to enjoy being reckless and testing what my character can actually handle. Now if my life flask is half empty I consider logging out to save the juice. "Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."

" If lvl 100 isn't mean to be reached, it shouldn't have existed. |

" Untainted paradise. Or jump up to any higher tier maps, I was able to handle T11/12 when I was early 70's and the XP gain was much much better. Run a juiced T15 with friends, you'll gain a few levels in a map there as well. |

" So no optional goals should exist? or is it just this one that is an issue for you? "Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."

" There's a difference between optional content, and something that most players will never reach because of how the game is designed and the insane time investment it requires. |

" Completely agree. I've never leveled a character past 95 in PoE, and I don't think I lost anything. Maybe I could get my chars to 100, but why put in the time just for that? Layer defenses and scale damage. Five passive points will help with that, but not much. SSF Rise of the Abyssal Ice Strike Invoker, high survivability and fast clear speed. Deprioritize armor and resistances; prioritize crafting a weapon and faster start of ES recharge. Build is shown at level 47, end of Act 3. It tore through Act 3 like butter.

" 1. Please stop comparing it to hardcore, Im not being rude here but honestly your just weakening your own arguemnt by using this comparison because it makes you look like you have no idea what your talking about. 2. I actually think exp loss starting at level 90 would be completetly fine. But I dont actually think it would benefit anyone. Leveling to 90 is basicly free. The exp you lose before that is a trivial amount, if the exp penalty is preventing you from reaching 90 then that means your dying ALOT. Its a mechanic in the game to force people to improve their build / gameplay skills to get ready for endgame content. So I would be completetly fine with that change myself but tbh I dont think anyone would benefit, they would just chain die their way to 90 and then still be unable to do any content. |
