Performance of the game on PC - NOTES
Hello to everyone,
I would like to share my feeling about the current state of the game in a few concise structures. Last hotfixes didn't help me. I have previously applied various solutions found on the Internet - limited consumption of cores, cleaning the log file (.txt 30 MB+), limiting hyper-threading etc. Nothing works in 100% cases. None of the above advice improves performance permanently, even if it succeeded for a while I noticed a certain regularity, which I will describe below. Backgroud: -Windows 24H2, i5-11400F, rtx 3060ti, 16gb -Amateur long-time gamer, mostly online games -About 180h active playing in PoE 2, 250h in stats because of some, below reason :) Fact: Game crashes unexpectedly after character selection or during first location changes. If the game does not shut down after the first location changes, I prefer to leave it in the background and staying afk for a few hours - I have a guarantee that when I return to playing, PoE 2 will not cause a next hard resets. Performance #1: The game runs with different performance depending on the TIME OF DAY (server load at a given time). After logging in in the early morning, in the early afternoon I have 90-100 FPS in hideout. After logging in during peak hours (evening) I have 50-65 fps immediately after logging in the same location. There are no creeps or other players there. Why this difference in performance, netcode? Performance #2: 1. My build is based on 2 Heralds. When I have a higher number of fps -I pass T15 maps without any problem (55-70 fps), a significant majority of maps are a walk for me. 2. When playing in the evening - the same maps become an impassable barrier for me. This is not even due to the weaker performance of the game - 30-40 fps is still smooth gameplay despite some inconvenience, but heralds skills at the same difficulty level much less often! The same maps at T15 are almost unplayable, significantly reduces the casting of heralds during the same gameplay. Skills do not activate as if they work with the higher performance of my hardware during lower server load. Conclusion: 1. Motion on the servers has a strange effect on the performance of the game's clients, and thus affects gameplay. I don't play in parties. 2. Motion on the servers has a strange effect on the performance of the game's clients, which also increases the load on hardware and probably can affect the activation of skills also. Plan - thing to check for a <me> player: Choose a distant server during peak hours for my location, check heralds activation and fps at higher pings but lower loads on a other servers. There is a chance to avoid a drop in character build performance to achieve success on maps with higher pings.
