"Tier" gear needs to be default, and "Tier" buffed
So, gear drops that read (Tier #) are supposed to drop lower mod tiers from the pool, right? I propose that at a certain ilvl that this starts to happen automatically, especially for the larger mod tier pools like +Life or +Defences. Let the Tier gear still drop, and this way they will have the potential to be far more rewarding. I won't mind if the automatic tier culling only applies to some mods, and that others with a high base already or are highly desirable (like +skill level) should only drop lower tiers when finding a Tier drop. But, for real, an ilvl 76 piece of armor should NOT be rolling +7 life. Just, flat out, that is wrong and makes gear drops feel really bad. Even if only a little bit, a couple hours of gameplay at high tier maps should feel like you can progress and make gearing decisions between the really good drops. It's not fun grinding gear when you have to sort through a thousand chunks of pyrite just to find the one piece of actual gold.
I realize we still have a lot of end game to be implemented, but giving me different RNG options of how I want to smash my head against a brick wall until a diamond falls out or I am concussed doesn't improve the sense of progression in end game. Last bumped on Jan 11, 2025, 11:09:15 PM

While we're on the subject, white gear should drop Tiered as well. End game progression starts to feel really bad with how long you go between upgrades and how long it takes to level if you can't consistently run T15/16 maps, especially when you run into one of those instagib moments where you don't even realize what happened before you're dead.
Even if top mod tiers continue to be rare, weighting of some kind towards an ilvl appropriate "middle ground" would at least allow for more or less consistent small upgrades. |

In super-juiced, highest tier maps I'd certainly like to see "well rolled white bases" drop more often. These are the sort of ground items that I might bother at least TRYING to craft on.
With high i-level items [or tiered white items?] maybe a system of just making it impossible to roll affixes that aren't at least "Level requirement at item_level-20" OR the best tier if the level requirement is less than ilevel-20 would be reasonable?? Perhaps have only Trans, Alt, Regal, Ex effected by this to limit the amount of BIS gear?? |

IDK the best approach, all I know is it is demotivating as fuck to clear a dozen maps and make half as many slam attempts and find another six rare/magic potentially useful gear and not even see a slight upgrade, or something worth swapping if I can compensate elsewhere.
