Drops need to be more class specific (In my opinion)

I can live with the crappy drop rates and having to craft gear, IF, I get meaningful drops.

It's really disappointing to work your way through the campaign contsantly getting drops for other classes. As a mage, I generally don't need hammers or crossbows because I don't have the stats to wield them.

Any way the drops could be biased towards your primary stats?

If I'm mostly INT, could I get an 80% weighting on EV armour and INT weapons. Dual stat players could be 40% INT and 40% dex depending on your class and stat allocation.

What do others think?

Lame idea, there are multiple instances of a situation where build doesn't use its intended class' equipment.
If my witch couldn't get gear for my warrior, I wouldn't be able to play warrior.

I would like to see at least a minimum level of thought into gear though, like why is Thorns ever a possible roll on an evasion piece?

in theory invoker monk could use thorns on evasion items.
Tying loot drops to character stats in a game like poe sounds like a bad idea imo. Too many niche cases where it could backfire on players. eg, What if someone is stacking strength but using Jarngreipr Ringmail Gauntlets to let them use a Quarterstaff- but now quarterstaffs wont drop for them as much. So they need to play a different build to get base types for their other build.
"Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."
By the time you get past L20 or so, unlesss you're investing into a stat, you won't be able to equip gear anyway, so tying drops to character stats means you would get drops for off class weapons and armour.

And while I'm at it, why am I getting L6 gear dropping in a L42 area?
I don't really want gear to be targeted towards the specific character I am playing with right now as I generally have more than one character in a league.

So I very much want my "league starter" to be getting drops they can't use because they are not the only character I intend to play.

With that said I could see such value in a SSF system since SSF already struggles with character appropriate loot.
this could be fixed if crafting wasn't so dumb, every roll is accuracy on my sorc, i can blow 10 chaos and the accuracy is the only stat that doesn't more or gets upgraded.

I think the TE means the Drops should be Like in Diablo 3 AFTER the Loot 2.0 Patch.

For those who did not know:
D3 had the same Loot Drops that we have today in PoE2. You get Gear with any and all Mods for everything. Yes that even included class specific Legendarys which can roll with +STR on a Caster (INT) Class.

This is sadly a very very bad Loot System since most of the Players want to get Loot for the Character they play.

So in Loot 2.0 they fixed it. The Legendarys for only one class has the right primary attribut. And they also made it that 80 % of the Loot that drops is for the Class you are currently playing.

Yes in PoE2 your Class is more flexible but the Witch will never be a Melee Warrior and the Warrior will never be a Mage. Yeah you can try to use it, but the Skill-Tree is not made for it.

Like the TE suggested:
The System can look at your Main Stats and weight the Loot Drops like your Stats, so hybrid Builds are still viable and Focus Builds profit also.
