Extremely low performance on infernalist minions
Hi, I just recently upgraded my system to play PoE 2, however, I still get extremely noticeable frame drops when there are a lot of effects or mobs in screen. I play at 1440p. Graphics settings seem to have no effect on these extreme drops.
GPU: RX 7800 XT CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X RAM: 16 GB I feel like I'm comfortably over the recommended specs, but I've seen the game drop even below 30 on 1 occassion when playing with a friend. Is this normal? I play witch so the screen tends to get really full of mobs and effects, but still, this performance is really bad and it doesn't make sense. I've only tried the setup with cyberpunk other than PoE 2, and everything seemed normal. A huge jump from my previous ryzen 7 1700 and GTX 1080. But in PoE 2 the game is running almost the same. Higher average FPS but still experiencing very distracting drops. I investigated and a lot of people using my same build (arsonists minions and flame wall) seem to have this problem, one user with a 4080 super reported dips below the 20s. Some other things that I read about were "Shader Spikes". Using the ingame monitoring function I can see that I am indeed getting these shadder spikes, tho I can't know for sure if they're the reason for this. A good area to stress test this is Dreadnought Caravan. I just dropped below 30fps while testing the game at 1080p there. I'm having the same issue and I didn't even notice anything until I got to the end of act 2 at Dreadnought and I saw my frames tanking down to the 30's. It also doesn't seem to matter if the graphics are turned all the way down either it still tanks.
This really sucks because I'm really enjoying this build, but the fps drops are kind of ruining it. |

Yes, the same problem. I am using 5700x3d and 6600xt running 1440p. Btw i easily cap 165fps in poe1 hideout.there is a long way for ggg to fix poe2's performance issues.

" Yep in some places where mobs are tighly packed FPS drops insanely no matter what settings are. GPU doesnt solve this issue, not sure about CPU. |

Game have a lot of issues 'cause lack of optimization for texture/engine.
They know but seems that they don't care. A lot of people with high-end hardware have problem, also some of them on Consoles. |

Does not matter what rig you have or what build you play.
The performance is just utter shit by itself. Not like GGG cares. Understandable tho, they are a small indie team with no experience in gamedev) /s |

I'm on i5 13500 and 3060 playing on 1440p and one build that just tanks my frames is arsonist with flamewall/raging spirit.
Any combat and it dropped between 20-30fps most of the time.Switched to frost mages and fps issue is gone. There are still drops in certain situations but it's PoE so I don't expect stable performance ever to happen. Most of the time is over 60fps now. |
