Trial of chaos bug - coop unable to start last trial

"Choose a Modifier" but cannot. nothing to interact with... its dead. Cannot repeat it often enough: All trials are horrible. Mechanics and gameplay and bugs... I guess I found a workarround.
At least for me this helped: Go back to another place. Port back to the Temple of Chaos and enter the trial from the beginning. You now may walk through all the levels you did before. Use the Switches to reset the pillars! Once reaching the last stage you may pick your Modifier and you are golden. Good luck! |

This is super annoying. Can't even start the trial, must be map owner. Tried other player, tried other keys, only works when solo.
We only play couch co-op, so we are basically barred from ascendencies because of this. Ascendencies/trials feel like the worst part about this game. Riddled with tediousness and bugs. |

Hello, Players!
We have been playing couch coop and encountered the same error, "You must be the map owner to do this." and we were unable to start the Trials of Chaos. We are playing on Windows 11 via Steam. We got a suggestion from the post from Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/PathOfExile2/comments/1j8kzjd/psa_how_to_play_trial_of_chaos_in_couch_coop/ But, we have found a faster workaround for this: the player who logs into the server (the Player 1) has to choose the character of the Player 2. Then, the Player 2 joins the game and has to choose the character of the Player 1. So, for example, I am playing the Monk as Player 1 (my character is displayed on the left side of the screen) and my partner is playing the Sorceress as Player 2 (their character is displayed on the right side of the screen), usually, in the whole game, EXCEPT the Trials of Chaos. So, here are the steps to start the Trials of Chaos together (let's use our example above): 1) Player 1 connects to the server. 2) Player 1 chooses the Sorceress. 3) Then, Player 2 joins the game (by clicking "A" button) and chooses the Monk. 4) Then, both players connect to the game as usual by holding the "A" button and the game loads next to the sculpture which enables to start the Trials of Chaos. 5) Player 1 starts the Trials of Chaos and it is this player who chooses modifiers and starts each stage of the Trials. 6) We chose to switch places on our couch, so each person's character life/mana panel is displayed on the correct side of the screen.
