Crux of nothingness, no light orbs to follow

Went to crux of nothingness and got through first boss phase, went into the maze, followed the first light orb, it disappeared and then nothing, there was no more light orbs at all.
Don't know if this was a bug or if it was one more absolutely bullshit dumbass mechanic to add to the list in this game.

Yep just had this bug on the final tier boss. Not impressed.
It is early access, but what a waste of time
