Divine Orbs should function like Blessed Orbs
Since Vaal Orbs functionally have the same function as a Divine Orb, many players have opted into never using a divine orb for its sole purpose of rerolling the modifiers on an item, since a vaal orb is going to do that anyways.
This might be a hot take, as I'm no economical expert, but I would imagine that the over abundance of Divine Orbs in the economy, due to their lack of purpose would make them somewhat useless except for trading, due to their rarity. I think we should have them have a powerful effect that's unique to their effect without introducing yet another currency for players to pick up or interact with, as we really don't need both. Vaal orb covers that. I agree that vaal orbs should be powerful and I like that they are. I just feel like Divine Orbs should function as a Blessed Orb instead. This would at least allow some divine orbs to be consumed by the player base, especially since we don't have the crafting bench to meta craft using them. Last bumped on Jan 7, 2025, 1:26:54 PM

Vaal orbs are not the same as divine at all, rerolling is just one of many outcomes.
Divines are fine as is. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X

Divine Orbs already reroll implicits in PoE 2. Do you really want them to be weaker?

" I think the issue is NOT the "overabundance" but demand of divines and the limited usage and abundance of exalts. Divines have a clear and predictable outcome when used and ARE in fact used. Exalts are used on gear and maps but in quantity that is well below the supply provided by maps. Chaos orbs are 100% useless. Brick your item worse than vaal. Transmutes, Augs and Regals are going to be overflowing in your stash. Alchemy gets used on maps along with vaal orbs but again supply exceeds demand. Divines are the only thing you're going to see sunk into end game uniques over and over. That's why they're skyrocking in price - because the other currencies are weak and abundant. |
