Game Breaking PC Audio Drivers

It seems like certain enemies like tombshriekers have an ability that muffles audio. Now my pc is doing this repeatedly even while not in combat and while not in game.

To fix I have to re-install all my PC audio drivers. Then I am fine until I run into another enemy that interacts with audio. Every time I try to listen to music or watch a tv show after playing the game I have to re-install my audio drivers so the ducking/muffling isnt happening with the game closed.

I have tried manually selecting devices, all channel counts and all audio mix settings. I have reverd disabled and I even tried playing with master volume at 0 and it still broke my PC drivers after a while of playing.

Anyone have a game setting or PC setting solution for this until it is fixed?

this reminds me of back in the day when Skype would try and muffle the audio from other sources whenever it was installed on the system; intended for when you were in a call and you wanted to hear the person on the other line over the music or videos playing on your machine ... except it would do this even when the app wasn't even running in the background.

I don't know how the game controls the ducking, or what OS and drivers you're using, but the only two potential solutions I can think of in Windows would be for you to look up how, for your sound drivers and operating system, you can find and turn off "Enhancements" and "Spatial Sound".

I hope this helps, and if not, then GGG fixes the audio device handling in general because this is far from the only device related issue the game has.

OS: Fully updated Windows 10
Analog Output Driver: Realtek "RTKVHD64.sys" version 6.0.9754.1 (tried older 4.0 version as well)
Issue exists on hdmi output audio as well (nvidia geforce rtx 3080 ti)
Audio enhancements and spatial sound are turned off. I have tried all the channel count settings in the OS and in the game.
