Kirac's vault pass is about as needed as a cat with two tails. The things that are really relevant to the game are on the free track. The rest is cosmetics. Nothing that will help you in any shape or form.
It's rather funny arguing about this kind of thing nowadays. Once again, I am aware there's no advantage, I am also aware that they are 'just cosmetics'. The game being free doesn't automatically make it immune to criticism about the prices of said 'useless cosmetics'. And that's where my criticism aims: 50$+ armor, 30$ for a set of wings (or 69$ for the bundle) and so on and so forth. Loot boxes seem to be better than ESO at least as you can't get repeat items? Yeah.
As for ESO, the game had a broken reward system thanks to the crown store, the fluff is important, especially in an MMO game, and when most cool shit goes to the store, or worse, crates, then there's a problem. Especially when there's a subscription (not mandatory but mandatory..) expansions, dlc etc. ESO will always be the worst.

I am rather new to POE and I had no idea what to expect from the MTX, however, after learning a few things about how things worked in POE1 -- I am a little worried about POE2. I am someone that has played ESO for 10 years (recently quit) and I know what heavy/aggressive monetization means and it's part of why I quit that game.
From what I see POE has core packs that run for like a year, then seasonal packs, season pass (30$), Loot Crates (will probably hate those), and the usual stuff we see in the store. Did I miss anything? Anyway, for someone like me that loves cosmetics and sometimes can't help himself, it may be a bit of a problem.
I would be fine if the prices were lower, but almost everything is so damn expensive in the store, I can't see myself surviving POE2 in this economy. Hyperbole aside, I am aware that this is going to be a free game, but even then -- I find the monetization to be a little too much. Maybe it's just me, so I'd like to see what others think.
I don't get the complaint, the game is gonna be free to play when it releases, you don't have to buy any MTX to play. The prices are fine as they are.

Is OP saying they love cosmetics and the MTX might be an issue because they'll spend too much money on cosmetics?

One of the few to come to this genius realization. Yes, OP is saying that cosmetics, despite being unnecessary, are priced too highly.

Lol... this post is funny.
Its MTX who gives a shit. If you're worried about that i would suggest playing world of warcraft and transmogging.
Step 1 is to self reflect.

About 6 years ago or so, I played ESO every day for a year which includes the initial cost of the game, the expansions and a little fluff. I quit after that year (never went back) and have spent less on games in the entire time since having realized a lesson.
With PoE you only need the stash tabs as noted, about $50 worth. You keep them forever and the game is f2p. Best bargain in gaming by far.
Now, if you want to buy MTX and supp packs, be my guest, but as you see they ain't cheap. Plenty of folks seem to love them though and I thank all of them for subsidizing the game I enjoy the most.
