sorcerer and witch start
Why do the sorcerer and witch start at the same node in the tree if they are 2 different classes? What's the point? It seems like a cheap mistake
It's the same as a mercenary and a monk starting at the same node. Why do all the other classes start at different positions, and they decided to merge these two classes? Last bumped on Jan 5, 2025, 3:00:00 AM

Probably because they're both pure int classes.
Monk is dex/int and mercenary is dex/str. Witch and Sorceress do actually have differences in their initial passive trees too. |

It's because they have the same stat alignment (pure INT), and currently we only have 1 of each of the other alignments.
When the game full releases, you will have 2 classes for each type of stat alignments (6 pure, 6 hybrid) |

" With such logic, you can make one branch for all classes and a difference in the first 10-15 nodes. After that, make a divergence on what is there now These are 2 different classes. Why make 2 classes then? They could have stuffed everything into 1 if it was intellect Last edited by Rrtnjv#6550 on Jan 5, 2025, 2:13:36 AM

They could also make a single class with access to every ascendency and starting node. But they didn't. :P Overall I like this, I'm not particularly fond of some of the nodes near the start being different for the two classes that share the node though.

They do, but also they sortof don't.
If you make one of each and look closely, you'll find that aside from having different ascend talents, witch and sorceress also have different starting talents. The class you pick between the two dictates what the talents in the rhomboid talent starting cluster are. I believe everybody else sees sorceress's starting talents by default. |

" Having separate classes allows them to customize the starting nodes for each class. They didn’t want to put them both on the tree because otherwise witch and sorc would grab each others initial major passives and they would be forced to nerf all the early nodes. It was more elegant for witch and sorc to each get their own starter nodes and be unable to pick the other’s nodes. |
