A Full Detailed Breakdown of Cold Stormweaver Spells

There's also a really fun additional problem: Quality doesn't do anything for Freezing Shards. If you hold Alt while looking at the skill information, it says: "Quality bonuses for Freezing Shards:" and then there's nothing there. That's assuming quality on the staff will affect the spell, which I haven't seen proof that it does (Freezing Shards is the only weapon spell I've mained).

I assumed this was just a UI/display bug and will likely eventually display what it does. As to what it actually does do, we won't know until then.

Possibly, but even if that were the case, there's no indication that quality on the staff gives quality to the skill. For a gem with quality, when in a slot, the skill description flat out has a line for Quality. That line is missing on Freezing Shards even though my Gelid Staff has +20% Quality.

So maybe there's a display bug that makes the effect line not show up, but there's no reason to believe the skill gets quality from the staff's quality. As of right now, I don't think quality on a Gelid Staff does anything at all.

That part I have 100% confirmed. Quality on the staff via the Arcanist's Etchers DOES give the gem quality.

Are you saying that the Quality shows up on the skill information on other skills, or for other skills you see the same thing but the effect line is there and so you can confirm that it is in effect without the game saying that it is?

I've used it on other items. I have a wand with Power Siphon, the tooltip works properly and etchers did give the power siphon skill 20% quality.

Interesting. There's definitely something wonky going on with Freezing Shards and the Gelid Staff with regards to Quality, then. I hope they resolve it.

I'm using EOW with snakepit for chain. That's my trash clear.

EOW -> mobility -> inspiration ->glaciation -> acceleration

Have EOW on left click and just hold it down as you move into packs. You'll need mana % on kill jewels - at least 2%.

Archmage

Cast on freeze -> comet

Arctic armor or font of mana and clarity if you have the spirit free

You want to use frost wall / fortress on boss and rares or high HP enemies that charge. Frost wall will stop their charge usually insta kill them. It will insta kill large size units (even some rares will insta pop with 3x ice wall on them)

Frost bomb only on bosses and rares. It's good to drop ice walls, drop 2x frost bomb (second wind) then step back until it all pops.

Sigil of power on bosses

Frostbite on bosses

-

I can clear t16 maps with bosses in around 10 mins

Freeze is a good defensive mechanic, but overall the build feels a bit squishy so I'll need to figure out some more defensive layers soon.

I've done nearly all of what you've suggested and similar results. The issue is the maps take 10 minutes. Why? Because we're spending 1/2 our time waiting for our skills to go off. Meanwhile Spark just zooms through the map with no delay and is out the door in under 5 minutes. Spark has a cast time too, but you're only casting Spark and the occasional Flame Wall. Cold skills all rely on other cold skills, which ALL have ridiculously long cast times. That's kind of the real issue. Why would I press 3 buttons that all have a 0.8 to 1.1 second delay when I can press 1 button with a 0.7 second delay? That means I'm taking 3-4x longer to do everything...including my maps.
