Drop rates and single try maps.. I'm done.

So after not getting any gear past level 66, which is just my weapon - and everything else being level 59, I'm trying to get my stuff upgraded - which as far as I can tell, only comes from maps that are level 71+ (t6) - which wouldn't be THAT bad if only waystones actually dropped for that tier, let alone the entire single-try only thing that is going on. I did get a waystone drop in the one t6 that I was able to try, but it was a t1 magic-tier waystone. Wtf?

Why open six portals if you are only going to use 1, maybe 2 if you're lucky with gear drops?

Regardless, I think I'm done with PoE2 for a couple of weeks - maybe it will get fixed, and if not, if it is a design decision, then yea, I'm done with PoE2.

I don't believe you did the 50x waystones the game want you to do before Tier 6 and only got 1 tier 6 waystone, I can't even run out of tier 15's.

Also you can upgrade waystones from a lower tier in the reforging bench.
Edit: You can also do a T5 on a node with +1 or a T4 on a +2 node and its the same as a T6.

6 portals are opened because you can be in party with 5 other players, and some people like to loot a lot and need extra portals.

One life per map is a different discussion.

If this would be true, then your assumption that you have to farm area level 71+ is false.

In PoE each item has an item level. This item level is linked to the monster that dropped it. So in area level 60 monsters would drop item level 60. Magic monsters drop +1 item level and rare/unique monsters +2.

Affixes that can role on an item are split up in tiers. In PoE 2 tiers start at 1 for the lowest value and got up for higher values. Every tier of each affix has a minimum item level requirement for it to be able to roll on that item.

Even with item level 60, so dropped in campaign, items can role pretty much all affixes and most of their tiers. There is very little that cannot be rolled.

When you select the item type you want to check, in about the middle of the page you see the affixes. As sort of a header there is summary of how many prefixes/suffixes and tiers there are. If you then change the item level (a bit above) to 60, you will see that the number of available tiers only changes by very little.

So yes, higher item level items have a very slightly higher chance to roll better tiers in average and maybe have 1-3 tiers that can't roll on lower item level items. But that's it.

You are still able to get upgrades. If your gear really is already that strong that you cannot get better items/tiers than now, then honestly, better items would not really help you much.

totally agree. I was playing poe1, "casually". I dont feel casual when i play poe2.
