Disenchanting + Salvage

I'm sure there was a reason for Disenchanting and Salvage being separate at some point. However, I feel like this is a system that can be streamlined to do both. Getting Regal shards AND Artificer shards at the same time won't break the economy, and the very rare chance of getting something with quality to get scrap or whetstone as well. Feels like they are separated for no real reason since they are broken down into shards in any case?

Pros of merging
-More currency eventually for new players, new players don't miss out on quality orbs if they don't understand the systems in place.
-Less maintenance down time between maps for early game experience.
-less clicks in general even if I place the salvage bench and disenchanter beside each other. Losing out on materials feels bad.

eh, disenchanting is kinda useless honestly.

By the time you hit endgame, it's not even worth the time to disenchant blues, better to just sell the ones you accidentally picked up to get gold so you can buy all the quality items from vendors to salvage and then trade for exalts.

I guess disenchanting yellows for regals could be worth it? But honestly eventually you realize that item drops are so awful and crafting is so bad you'll never really make use of any of them. Once again best to just get gold so you can buy quality/socket items from vendors and trade for more exalted.

Eventually you'll this isn't a loot based ARPG, it's an Orb based ARPG. At that point you'll stop interacting with all drops that aren't a unique, a high tier, or an orb.

I gave up disenchanting very soon after the start, because it became clear very that "crafting" in PoE 2 is even worse than it was in PoE 1 and also because it was already a chore to collect all the quality and socketed loot to get whetstones, artificer's, etc.
Agree 100%. This needs to be a thing. Combining the two, especially after the statements made on stream about only using Disenchanting, when I primarily do Salvage feels bad. Should be combined for sure.

If it has sockets or quality, then you get slightly less resource from base and get the mats for sockets / quality. Best of both worlds.
