My EA feedback after 100hs from the meme dad with 10 kids and 22hs job.
THE BAD
------------------------------------------------ 1- Portal Design: -I don't like the 1 portal design.- If we're not supposed to have "6 tries" like poe1, than just add a permanent portal that only disappears when you die and you can transverse as many times as you want to sell stuff. Coz the 6 portals now are for this, right? so you can empty your bags and jump back in... but only 6 times? That's a pretty weird design decision. If the design idea is to only have 1 try per map, make it one permanent portal than. 2- Skills UI: -I like the skills but the UI does not help at all.- If I want to check my options I need to go to the bank and right click an uncut gem so it shows the options. That menu should have a hotkey, not an item click. If I want to change skills I get lost. All supports come out with the skill (Sometimes unwanted). Skill gems are in one place, skills on another place and skills to pick yet on another place gated by an item click. That's really confusing and clunky. Unify skill menus in one accessible place so we can mix and match without having to open and close 500 windows all the time please. Also, If I craft a gem with the uncut in the bank, the cut gem goes straight to bank and you lose sight of it. The overall process should be more concise in a single window. 3- River Rag monster: -This mob has no place in this game- That mob ability, tho has a cool idea (to drown people on the drowned temple I guess) has very bad mechanics. It slows you too much (I have 30% move speed + slow reductions and still is too much) and kills you too fast independent of gear/spec/resists etc. It's a "1 shot" ability that shouldn't be in the game. It's not fun, it's not balanced and it does not fit with the rest of the game at all and it should be removed or at least reworked not to be a "1 shot mechanic" from a white trash mob. I don't even wanna talk about rare packs of this mob, I just leave the map and start a new one. 4- Deaths (on Pinnacle): -Hi, this is PoE!- Yes, PoE has death penalties. It always had, and I hope they keep it. This is PoE, not D4. I dont mind losing xo or a map to a death (if the design is like that), but for pinnacle bosses that's a bit too much. It's too much farming to get to a boss and get 1 try on a fight you don't know and need to execute it perfectly in order not to die. That's a bit exaggerated. Maybe keep the 6 portals for pinnacle bosses only? Idk. THE GOOD ------------------------------- 1- Pacing: -It feels right- I had a lot of trouble as melee on the 1st 3 acts, but had a lot of fun as well. The last 3 acts were a breeze after the skill/gear setup started to work. Now on maps I can "zoom zoom" like poe1, but not as fast paced and it feels really good. 2- Maps: -Good farming- I enjoy the bigger maps. I don't know why people complain about it being big at all. Something I disliked in poe1 was to prepare a really nice map, spend currency etc to make it worth it, than zoom zoom it in 2 min. I like that I can spend some more time in maps killing monsters instead of in town preparing maps that I will destroy in seconds. 3- Atlas: -Simplified but diverse- I really like that they watered down the atlas skill tree and separated the encounters in small trees. That's a lot better than the old way where they actually needed to add more skill trees for atlas since you can only setup some nodes. Now it's much more straight forward while still keeping player's choice meaningful and relevant. THE "I DON'T KNOW, NOT SURE" --------------------------------- 1- Crafting: -Lacks deterministic crafting- For now, the only deterministic crafting are essences and only for 1 affix on normal items. Everything else is a gamble and it's not so fun. On the other hand, spamming 5000 alterations for a desired mod in poe1 is also a bit out of hand. Maybe something could be done to get the best of both worlds. Essences could be like poe1 (normal to RARE with 1 guaranteed mod + random ones, instead of normal to blue with 1 affix only. 2- Ascendancy: -Too random for the bad- Most people didn't really like lab runs, but they were somewhat predictable and could be mastered and turned fun for some. That's not the case with the RNG on poe2 for ascendancy. You can get really easy and ignoble mods and breeze, or you can get build breaking mods during any part of the trial and make it impossible to keep going. So the skill is left aside and only RNGesus can save you. To ascend should be a challenge, should be a test of skill, should be "frustrating" in a way that you feel rewarded after you complete it. But if the only real "boss" is RNG, there is no feeling of reward after you complete it, just the feeling that you don't ever want to do that ever again. It doesn't need to be "easier", it just needs to be better suited to test the player skills, not the player's luck on RNG. LAST THOUGHTS ----------------------- **The game is in Early Access**, builds will be OP, builds will be broken. Hell, 10 years of PoE and builds still come and go there. Knowing GGG it doesn't bother me and I expect balance changes...well, forever while the game exists. PoE was never the kind of game that after a while it just gets set in stone and immutable. Go play Mario if that's the design you're after. Uniques "suck" right now, but if I understand it correctly, they just added mostly leveling uniques for now. Tons will be added later for sure so I can't see a reason to complain about uniques that are dropping now. "Magic find" seems mandatory at the moment, instead of a bonus on some pieces you have free slots for affixes. I still don't know if I like it or not. In a way its bad since it forces you to have so you can see more loot/currency drops, but in another way it's good that it can sort of gate some builds so they aren't too good. What I mean is if I have the gear to one shot a boss, that gear should have no slot left for a MF affix, since that affix would be used for character power, while a "farm build" would kill stuff slower but more rewarding since the gear is "gimped" with MF. Makes sense? In conclusion, I really like the game, I'm having a lot of fun leveling a melee class, combat feels really cool and satisfying, maps are long and I like it, loot is dropping more and more the more MF I add and it feels right(sorta?). I'd love to have an easier time sorting thru my skills/supports etc and hopefully we will get map stash tab right? Oh, I also miss trade vendor recipes. Those were really good to get rid fast of surplus stuff, like tier 1 maps at the moment. Last bumped on Jan 3, 2025, 10:36:43 AM

" Whoops was a misquote. But your response to this mistake on my part, is kind of revealing for you. Not sure how much I believe just the title alone of this thread. Best of luck to you though Mash the clean
