Proposal: Adjustments to infernalist Demon Form branch
So as is, I see two current issues with demon form:
1. As is, the form grants far too much power for far too little investment in the character. 2. As is, the form doesn't really scale upwards with gear appreciably beyond setting up to sustain itself for more time than you spend out of form. I therefore propose the following changes: 1. While in demon form, each demonflame drains 0.5% of life per second and reserves 3 maximum spirit. Must have enough spirit to support at least one demonflame and attached support gems to demon form. 2. Mastered Darkness: no longer limits demonflame to 10. Instead, allows the use of wands, staves, and scepters in demon form. Attribute requirements of wands, staves, and scepters is trippled.* *Note: not sure if this should enable the use of minions in demon form; the summoner main in me says yes, but also the summoner main in me says this would make demon form summoner objectively correct, so the pragmatist says probably not. What I envsion these changes doing is roughly the following: 1. Builds that only spec into demon form and ignore Mastered Darkness will still be very powerful, but will be limited by the low amount of spirit available will not be able to scale up to obscene levels of thousands of % added spell power for one ascend talent and three goofy uniques that allow you to have an enormous ratio of regenerated life to maximum life, making this an interesting starting build with room for upward growth and more diversity in gear selection. 2. Builds that further progress into Mastered Darkness will have much more room for upward growth at the cost of requiring very large attributes to attain. Obviously, with these changes, some balancing investigation would be required related to whether the final spell levels gain on demon form need tuning, since scepter + wand or staff in combination with demon form could produce some goofishly high level spells. Anyway, just me playing with an alt having late night scatterbrain. Feel free to roast. Last bumped on Jan 3, 2025, 1:39:49 AM
