Demon Form is useless you lose your weapon dont make an infernalist for it

OP you don't know what you're talking about.

Demon Form is very strong atm.
You can get thousands of % increased spell damage, more than from any weapon.

Example:

In fact its maybe even too strong and might get adjusted.

It's really strong right now, even OP in some cases I think. I can imagine a party that just waits for a guy with Demon Form to stack and then one-shot some huge boss.

One thing is certain, if the weapons stayed on - it would be insanely OP, by far the best builds in the game, even with max 10 stacks.
I'm wondering if mastered darkness node should cap at 10 and also allow weapon use meanwhile the initial demon node would still disable weapons. Might be a reasonable change and give the op builds a potential reason to take the mastered darkness node.

Currently I'm wanting to make a build with demon form and pyromantic pact. It would be nice if I could take mastered darkness so I could use my rise of the phoenix shield for the 5 max fire res. Otherwise it would be difficult fitting in enough max fire res soul cores on other gear when resistance is so difficult to cap as it is. In the first game we had purity of elements and various other tools to solve this problem. These tools just don't exist here.
Chaotic chaos chaotically causes creations.
You can easily get over 200 stacks of demonflame without a problem, each giving you 18% spell damage, on top of that you get +6 levels (more than you can get on a weapon) and a huge chunk of cast speed.

Seems more a problem of not finding the solution to the mechanic instead of the Demon Form itself. Most people playing Demon Form are doing T15s with less than optimal resistances and barely having survivability problems (I am one of those). Just reduce your max life and get flat life regen in your gear, you'll be ok.

So, saw some threads someone said that not having a weapon in demon form was intended, not sure if this is true but anyways... this is horrible design.

You LOSE YOUR WEAPON IN DEMON FORM, what???? so I gain spell skills for demon form, but lose the same spell skills from my weapon, completely useless.

I gain a piddly amount of cast speed from demon form and lose my cast speed from weapon...

I lose any mana or defenses from weapon...

All you get is spell damage and lose life over time

Literally just wasted 5.5 hours to make an infernalist to discover this most trash ass ability in the game, cant even cast firebolt it takes you out of it not that it matters because the skill is completely trash.

is this intended or not???

If you look at the buffs demon form gives you, (+6 to all skills and some other insane junk) it 'replaces' your weapon with- depending on your gear- a potentially better weapon that ramps up in power over time.

It can be an issue if you're relying on attributes/resistances from those weapons/foci/shield... i miss the crafting bench so much.

Some of the strongest meta builds right now are using it so...

''some of the strongest meta'' are same 3 twitch builds you see on said site/YT , played by every streamer.

Even those streamers who initially had different classes/specs on release switched to those builds , for a reason.

Just because there's one or two streamers OUT OF 500 , playing some build and doing well , doesnt make it ONE OF THE STRONGEST.

I stumbled upon Darth's short last night , just by replacing weapon on his Monk , his dps jumped from 21 k to 71 k . FROM A WEAPON ALONE, 50 k dps increase. That leaves him room to stack magic find on every other item.

I replaced 2 hand mace on my warrior that was supposed to be MASSIVE upgrade. I got from 7 k dps to 13. It even had +4 to mele and previous weapon had none , and not just that but it had better stats and high rolls.

Something doesnt add up. Either scaling doesnt work properly or idk what.

There's a reason why every streamer plays same broken build.

I cleared t12 on my monk at level 75 with level 42 weapon. My base damage for Ice Strike was 26 k. 20 ex investment. I didnt like playstyle because it was literally rotting my brain. Deleted him and leveled Warbringer instead.
