Detonate Dead is the worst concept in video game history
I don't even need to elaborate because everyone already knows what I am saying because everyone has died to completely untelegraphed instant one-shots and had a map and loot deleted for no reason.

Is it "Detonate Dead" (DD) or some other "explosion" mechanism [like explode on death or something]??
As far as I know DD has a telegraph and the bigger the explosion the longer the duration of the telegraph. Color is purple if memory serves. I imagine fog, something blocking LoS, etc. would get in the way and the telegraph just disappears?? |

It's quite telegraphed. It's a big glowing spell-circle on the corpse. It takes maybe 3-5 seconds before the corpse actually explodes. I do agree it can get annoying when maps have these casters that blow up corpses when there's corpses everywhere, but I make an effort to target those spell casters first when I clear. As for Rare's with the passive that explodes corpses, I kite them away from corpses.

DD is definitely something to watch out for. I try [and fail often I'm sure] to keep my character in the open. As soon as something blocks Line of Site that whole telegraph disappears.
Might not be a bad idea to add an "ugly" audio queue while the buildup is occurring -- that could help if there is only a visual queue. |

it obviously needs to be removed it serves no purpose in the game except as a "gotcha". I've cleared dozens of maps and completed them then die because, the grouped up ground effects are so cluttered that I can't even see the impending death at my feet.
I can't name really a single sane person who thinks it's a good idea to Win something then have it snatched away after making you feel like garbage. It wouldn't be a problem if you could use a TP and go back in to get your loot or continue but, this just straight up punishes you. It's the same thing with the boss fights, you're supposed to learn and adjust. Not Die and never learn anything and grind for 200 hours looking for pinnacle fragments like a brainless monkey. Then die the same way because the fight was a week ago and you are out of practice xD |

Na many times it just insta pops in 1 sec or less an dodge roll cant get away from it when it does that, an the casters always off screen.
Killed high hp or mob rare, an the casters pop the some odd 20 mobs back to back, it was roughtly 0.5 sec each pop. They need to lower the cast range for the mobs its to far an some times they do pop the moment they cast it. Its to punishing at times where you cant even get away from it. Only current way to avoid this 100% of the time is by destroying the mob body via effects. I my self died to it many times go to push forward step near a dead body an the caster way off screen pop it insta roll but cant get away cause it pretty much made it like a land mine where it goes off the moment you step on it. An can say it did more then 5k in 1 hit. |
