Burning ground in maps completely nerfs gas grenade build

Gas grenade build is rendered completely useless in any map with patches of burning ground. The gas ignites instantly giving very low dmg and not breaking armor. I won't even bother trying a ritual. At this point any waystone with burning ground can't be used with my build, it's not worth the risk of exp loss that's almost guaranteed if I get surrounded. Shouldn't be any mechanics in a map that completely render a build useless, especially when it's a build that ggg clearly wanted in the game.

On a side note, having on ground damage situated around rituals, chests, and levers shouldn't be a thing. Nothing like trying to inspect items in a ritual alter or pulling a lever that take 5 seconds as my life drains.

What do you mean? Gas grenades works almost exactly the same with burning ground mods, you're just not detonating it manually. You don't need to have all your gas grenades out, wait for max area coverage, then detonate them for the build to be effective. In fact, I get better (faster) clearing when I shoot 1 volley of explosive grenades then 1 volley of gas grenades when I'm clearing a map (rares/bosses plop out oil grenades too), rinse and repeat as you engage. I very rarely shoot all 4 volleys gas grenades at once. It doesn't matter if your gas grenades are detonated immediately or if you wait for maximum coverage. You just get less overlap, which honestly isn't even an issue. If you find yourself getting surrounded a lot, plop a Maim and Encumbrance support on your oil grenade, and use cluster grenades with Bludgeon (knockback).
