I would like my minions to walk in front of me

Having my minions in front of me is a major defensive layer. Currently without intervention they walk far behind me, which really isnt helpful. Not only arent they defending me but they also are out of melee range of all of the enemies I encounter, so they cant attack. I have tried the command to manually position them but this is a double sided blade because then they stop following me. If I command them to stand somewhere they will stand there until I issue another command then now they've become dependent on that command to move at all.

I'd understand ranged minions staying behind you but melee ones definitely should run in front of the player to be the firsts ones to aggro enemies.
