Some endgame systems are time wasting and I don't get why.

I played most classes in early access and I enjoyed the Monk the best which I leveled until end game.
I do not understand why when you die all progress in that map is lost ? What is the benefit of that ? It feels like hardcore philosophy in a softcore system. It just feels like time is wasted every time that happens.
Sorry I just don't want to feel like wasting time in a game. So this is a deal breaker for me. Until this part is changed I don't think I will ever touch this game again.
Endgame progress = waste of time!
Best of luck.

Because GGG hates you.

Either that or they're planning on selling "time savers".
It's good that it wastes your time because it makes you more careful to not waste your time, which makes it more fun.

When people make this reasoning, smart people realize that you are no longer playing the game for recreation, but as an option to work and chores.

And if you have a tiny bit of wisdom to go with that you realize you should stop playing a video game for those aspects of life, and actually do some real world work or chores instead, or play something that constitutes recreational activity that gives you energy rather than take it away.

And I can tell you with absolute certainty, people that have a life with demanding work, a family, maybe a house, you do not want a computer game to feel like work or stress.

Only people that does not get those things in real life, want that out of a video game.

No, it's because we enjoy playing the game that we like to be challenged, unlike people who are just here to press some buttons and watch items fall on the ground.
If I were to guess I'd say it was a decision to make it more souls-like, where you gotta get back to your body each time you die and everything respawns ... But let's face it it's much easier to run back to your body in a souls game, especially compared to corridor-like POE maps where you'll drag 800 enemies with you and get oneshotted the second you stop... And maybe because it's kinda booring to backtrack through an empty map you cleared to get back to where you died previously. I'm guessing someone figured out we might as well get more xp and loot getting back there.

Personally, I don't find it half as bad as it was at launch now that they allow teleportation to checkpoints... I'm kinda ok with it now...

That said, I absolutely hate the fact waystones have a "one life, we kick you out" thing going on. Really kills any desire for me to try and advance in the atlas as I just hate wasting waystones due to cheap onshots and boss mechanics I'm trying to learn on my first encounter.

I don't understand it either, but if it's of any consolation to you, the endgame is a colossal waste of time anyway, as it is an insane grind to get anywhere close to the end bosses.

So it's probably for the best you stopped playing it already, because that wouldn't change even if they increased the number of attempts to complete a map.

This is the main issue! This is why I lost any fun having in this game, sadly.
