Uniques could take a small rework....

.....and a new touch design vise.

I mean we have a brandnew game here, a big chance to create new and more interesting uniques than in POE1.

Currently good drops are very rare in the game and unique drops even more rare.

When droping an unique it should fullfill the player with satisfaction and a WOW effect, sadly both are not the case atm.

Most uniques sound and even feel very very underwhelming and there's no WOW effect when looking at one....They look so bland and plane, almost like a placeholder.

As said we have a new game here, it would be really nice to get a new unique design and meaningful uniques.

And by making most of them very good & even build defining in some cases, make them even more rare.

So uniques deserve the word "unique" and brings a smile on our face when we drop one. :)

Small? The vast majority are horrible. Their power level and usefulness is just too low. Too many also have absurd downsides for no good reason. Thank God they have some good high level uniques at least.
Uniques need massive overhaul. Most of them are not good for any build at all and are just chance shards in a form of items.
Also, every lower level unique needs to have a way to get its base upgraded to match the endgame ones. We had that in D2, and since devs are so in love with that game, they should preserve good things it had and not crap ones like exp loss on death or messy resistance system.
The only useful one I found so far is the Polcirkeln ring and I have the guts feeling they will nerf it. I hope not because uniques should be build defining, even more so in PoE 2 where capping your resist is actually hard. If you want me to wear a unique then make it worth it!
I'm using 4 uniques for my build, they can certainly create nice builds.

There are just not that many uniques just yet, which is to be expected in version 0.1 of early access. More will come

The number is not the problem.
Uniques are basically leveling fluff right now with very few exceptions.

Just like they wanted in POE 1.

Haha this is gold
Most uniques just have negative effects it feels like. They should at least have more resistances on them. If you try using more than one your losing out on so many places to up your resistances with.
You can't make all uniques good, for sure, but for their level they should always be like x3 times better than an average gear of this level, so that you'd always want not only to equip it now, but also keep for some time.

What I like in D2 uniques is that they offer some nice stat you don't get on this type of items at the cost of all other possible rare affixes. Like "Magefist: (fire skills +1). And that's it. But you never get any skills on gloves. Even other unique gloves. And even if you open some meta-build, you can still find these Magefists there. Wow.

Some other uniques there are more build oriented, and I don't see nothing wrong with that too; you grind the game because you want that unique for your build as it is so good - and at the same time your build still works without it, it's not that it adds x2-3 power at once. And what is nice too, powerful unqiues are almost never boss-gated. You just need to grind "maps" to find them.

In POE2 though I find most of uniques generic rares, just with 1-2 stats artificially changed (one for better one for worse). Yes, many have 1 "unique stat", but for the most part they all looks the same. Best uniques are endgame boss prizes. Meh.
