Warning: IncrediBar Malware

Upon installing Path of Exile be aware you may accidentally install a malware program called IncrediBar which hijacks your browser.

This was installed at the same time as I installed Path of Exile.

To remove;
Start Menu > Programs and Features
Look for the malware and un-install it.
Now;
Start Menu > System Restore
start the restore, it shouldn't take too long and be aware that it does not delete ANY files or programs, it only restores the system level components back to the way they should be.

Where did you download Path of Exile from? The version that we have on our site is clean.

It was either a 3rd-party download or it was already on your system, waiting for an installer to inject itself into.

Can you please PM me the link you're using to download the installer?
This link (on the website): http://webcdn.pathofexile.com/downloads/PathOfExileInstaller.msi is tagged as "malicious" by Google Chrome.

Didn't try to install it.

Firefox says noting about the installer or the link being malicious, scanned the installer with AVG and Malwarebytes with no hits.(not that it really means anything if it's not in the databases)

Checking about and found this on the incredibar thing

Clean .msi

P.S. As of my experience - i never trusted to Chrome
(it's overloaded with unnecessary stuff; and other reasons)
Remember, suffering is convenient.
That is why many people prefer it.
Happiness requires effort.
After logging into my account of pathofexile.com and clicking download now, my Chrome also marked it as malicious, after clicking keep file and than scanning it with Norton 360, there were no threats found.

I installed it Poe on a separate hard drive and have not had any issues. It's just chrome getting a false positive, also no incredibar was installed on my system.
Tried to install the game too but Chrome gave the same warning that the file may be malicious so i discarded it. I will wait for this to be sorted before i try to download again.
