Pain offering is listed as aura, unaffected by passives

I would expect, if it is listed as aura, that passives will increase its effects, when it should affect auras. It is counted as minion, then character passives does not affect this spell, then it should not be listed as aura, it is quite confusing. But I guess, it should work as aura in the first place.
