PoE2 being slower than PoE1 is great ... if it actually were
I have LOVED the pacing of the campaign. Meaningful combat with simple mobs, and strategic fights with all the bosses. The combat mechanics seem built for this kind of pacing.
However, once you get to maps and endgame content, all this pacing that you got used to from the campaign is completely gone. For example: If you open a Breach encounter, you are immediately swarmed with TONS of mobs coming at you from every direction. You have to be able to obliterate them all in a heartbeat to not get overwhelmed and owned by them. Where's the meaningful combat in that? It's either 'make the whole screen explode' or die. The same is the case with Simulacrums. Or the Breach-part before fighting Xesht in the Twisted Domain. Basically, the issue is that like this you make neither player base happy: The PoE1-Zoom-Zoomers are unhappy because the campaign is too slow for them and they want to watch screens of mobs implode, and people like me are unhappy because everything that comes after the campaign devolves into having to instantly evaporate everything. Choose to do one or the other, and stay true to it throughout the whole game. But doing this funny mix doesn't seem like a great solution to me.
