Affix Tiers Dont Need to be Reversed, they Need to be REMOVED Entirely

D4 solved absolutely nothing when it comes to items, its a master class in how not to make an item system.

Did you even play the game or just blindly hate it like most people here?
Release D4 items were the same mess that poe 2 items are right now. Too many trash affixes leading to 99% of items being useless. Finding an item with 3 stats you wanted (out of 4) was difficult enough, imagine trying to get 6.
They ended up redoing the whole system in season 4. They probably narrowed the list of affixes a little too much but what they did right is tie the power of the affixes to item's level. You won't ever get "+1% to crit" or similar BS on a max level drop.

Also, trash affixes like "increased Light radius" need to be reworked into something usable like "increased presence area" or "increased radius of warcries/curses".

yeah ive played loads of d4, its competing with d3 for the worst item system in any arpg ever made. d3 is probably beating it out for the title of worst items now, but it was probably the record holder on release.

i think d4 in its small amount of time with us has made probably every mistake its possible to make with an item system. still to this day there is nothing there, i dont look at a single item in that game and think fuck yeah, what an amazing item. the most important task of an item system is to make items matter, to allow the potential for an item to feel amazing. it completely fails to do that, at all, everything from the first blue item you find to a shako is completely dead, soulless, meaningless bleh.

its a loot game with 0 loot.

I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Seriously wish they just took Last Epoch crafting and put it into this game. Would solve a lot of issues as far as gearing progression goes.

Yes, we should just copy Last Epoch because that game is doing so well... oh, wait.

this is such low level thinking. the gaming isn't failing because of its crafting mechanics is it? is that sole part of the game the reason for its poor performance??
That statement is so fundamentally dumb, should anyone care about you opinion about this game.
Very bad suggestion. I there are no tiers, you can just grab whatever item and divine it to T1. and yes, if the tiers are reversed, you do know what the highest is, just not the actual dmg, but you know how many tiers apart you are.
hahaha, you really don't see why this wouldnt work?

Oh man, you've got so much to learn.
Step 1 is to self reflect.

It seems to me that intentionally making items easily brickable is part of the design philosophy in play here.
That is to say, the devs want modifier that you would not want for any reason, for the explicit purpose of being a mechanism by which an item is inherently considered bricked and leave you seeking a replacement.

Having tiers accomplishes that. Besides the light radius mod also adds accuracy, which can be useful.

'just divine it' lol- do you have any idea how hard this will make divining anything? i mean thye do want to make this game RNG hard so why not, i'm all for more information in-game. tired of having to check every thing externally. and no the 'tiers' are not clear because their srpread also varies, isn't the last tier of res spread 3% instead of 5?

You are speaking with a player that has played since POE1 beta. He probably has multiple level 100 characters and hundreds of divines.
"Just divine it"

LMAO
Great suggestion!
Very good suggestion.
Each item should be tiered (for ex: Bows tier 1-10), but affixes on them shold be same tier range. Today the system of personal tier for each affix is overcomplicated bs.
