Endgame is breaking all the rules set up in campaign

Endgame is basically stacking ES+ghostwrithe+CI. Its boring. Even with capped res even chaos things will still melt you. Ghostwirthe needs changed the way to works with health.

I finally decided to try Hardcore in PoE2, because dying in PoE1 was too much of an rng event to ever bother with that.

I played mostly softcore in PoE1 but that's just straight lie. There was always explanation why I died.

Map sustain is completly botched. Tier 6-8 is disturbingly hard to sustain, since you don't have enough juice in the altas yet.

are we playing diffrent games?

invest in defense - problem solved

play maps and kill mobs until less than 50 are alive
alch maps
use precursor tablets and stack league mechanics - problem solved

??? its that easy
+1 Endgame is completely cooked.
Oneshots everywhere, doesn't matter how much you invest in "defense" people with CI builds with super high ES are still getting oneshot in red maps because on-death effects are overtuned af.

All the death penalties just need to go because it isn't fun losing progress when you die, these outdated mechanics will just make so many people quit the game and never come back.

Yes, you died because you ran out of hitpoints. It how all deaths occur.

On a more serious note, until endgame, dying in PoE1 was 50/50 due to my negligence or a random effect that I did see - either from off screen or some random monstruosity next to me.

No, they don't. First, you'll lose progress anyway, eventually. 2nd, you shouldn't remove a mechanic that has no fault of its own in regards to skill/monster/weapon balance. I guess, they could remove them for EA, but then everyone will cry a few oceans when they bring them back on the game's full release.

Guessing they should also remove the Hardcore mode death penalty while at it too, no? Since game's buggy, lacking balance and whatever else. Or maybe you should, instead, bring up the issues that are leading to your character's death (that have nothing to do with gear or incompetence) and patiently wait for solutions. If the issues are real (like the titan boss fight), they'll get enough traction to see attempts at finding solutions for said issues.

Yeah, random projectile at map you should not run. If PoE1 HC wasn't viable there would not be events like Gauntlet.
You didn't even play much.

I’m convinced there’s a contingent of pure trolls that lurk the feedback forum that absolutely despise the game but post in every thread that it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread and every complaint is a skill issue or a gear issue but there’s no problem with trade or currency drops. Lol

It does seem that way.

You are absolutely correct. I didn't play much HC in PoE1 because I didn't find it even remotely as fun as softcore. Mostly due to these seemingly random death events that I have experience in softcore too, but at a much lower cost.

I also watched segments of a few gauntlets. I remember one where everyone had to play melee only. And everyone was pretty much using roughly the same build with just a different attack gem. Very viable, very diverse. Truly a masterpiece of build diversity. Lastly, you don't need to play 5k hours a game before you decide for yourself if it's fun, fair and so on, no?
