trial of chaos not fun, wtf

I battled through all of the rooms and whatever, including the TERRIBLE "escort the statue" one where it moves absurdly slow and you just have to sit there doing nothing while it limps through a giant map. I finally sat through this boring ordeal, then got to the boss Uxmal and it one shot me. So now I start the entire trial of Chaos again from the start? What the fuck is the point of making me re-do these easy, boring rooms to get to this boss? Do I have to sit there and wait for this slow fucking statue again? I stopped playing tonight after this.

It's like this game is almost wonderful, but the devs scattered tons of things in it that are just designed to be a fuck you to players.
