PoE2 needs Diablo 4's transmog system for armour and weapons appearances
As someone who spent more than 200 hours and 500ish dollars on tabs and skin MTX, I think at this point I am more certain than not that a TMOG system would fit perfectly with the wide variety of basic and unique gear. We currently have almost 0 armour Mtx that's usable but all that gear that our characters can use that can't be utilised due to lack of a TMOG system. While I personally hate D4, I know when to concede when it is better in some regards, although in this case, the only thing is no map wipes and the tmog system (unless it was changed since the network test).
How it works in D4 is basically when you get the specific weapon or armour, it unlocks the appearance in your appearances tab. Then in-game you can just swap to that appearance, while wearing any good shit you got to drop (looking at you, half naked robe, as a monk). I don't believe it decentivizes the player from buying MTX as a lot of the MTX looks way better (depending on class), but I can personally speak for myself when I say that I often times love to wear game supplied armour and weapons and the game so far has a lot of cool looking gear that pretty much wastes away, whether it be basic or uniques. This way, the resources which went into making the gear don't go to waste and people get to enjoy some nice looking in-game gear. The current, and utterly shit system in PoE1, I am almost certain barely gets any use and I can see it as being a waste of space. PoE2 looks far better than PoE1 so utilising a TMOG system would be far more effective, and would act as more W points for the Devs and probably lead to more support from players with that free win. Alternate changes: - Consume the gear to unlock the appearance in TMOG tab - Require gold to tmog, which could act as an additional gold sink, which afaik works well in D4 (could either be for the item while only you wear it or on the actual slot where you wear gear) - Make gold cost for tmogging relative to gear ILVL or a fixed value based on level... Games in EA.. why would they do this when their current way has worked for 12 years?
It doesn't make sense this isn't something GGG can just decide this is TENCENTs shop. Last edited by QticaX#4168 on Dec 28, 2024, 9:13:29 PM

" Because in Poe1 barely anyone uses this 1 time token to replace the skin on the item. It's a literal waste of money and blatantly anti consumer. This is not to mention the fact that a TMOG system worked in diablo 4 and it still sells MTX like crazy, even when it's way more overpriced than in PoE " First things first, this doesn't change PoE1. Secondly, I'm pretty sure GGG has been given free reign, not to mention tencent is not a stupid company. When their competitor makes a TMOG system but PoE1 greedily monetises a demi-tmog system, if I can even call that trash anything of that sort, it's an easy win for the game to copy what others are doing, especially when it wouldn't affect sales. Tencent is a Chinese company and Chinese companies are known to steal ideas and often even assets directly and making it better (except directly stolen asset games, those are a slop) |

Won't happen as this game is F2P. We'll probably get PoE 1's $5 skin transfers.

" i think it 100% can happen and should. it would not stop ppl from buying anything. diablo 4 and even grim dawn are proof of it |
