Elemental Penetration question
Probably a noob question but here it is :
I am a monk and have a crit build with the ascendancy "Sunder my Enemies..." which makes my criticals ignore non negative monster elemental resitance. I also have the tree passive which gives 15% cold damage penetration. So, my question is, does stacking % cold penetration combined with the ascendancy skill mean that first the crit makes the resist 0 and then the cold penetration treats it as if it was negative, like -15%? Or do these two have no reason to stack and I'm wasting skill points? Last bumped on Dec 28, 2024, 7:29:23 AM

The extended description for Elemental Penetration explicitly states that it cannot drop Resistances into the negatives.

But does that mean that my other elemental penetration nodes are useless? Sure the crit drops all to 0, but no effects apply aftwards? What about exposure?

If enemies have 0% resistance then penetration is not giving any benefit.
so penetration would only help with non-crits in this situation. "Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype." Last edited by Direfell#7544 on Dec 28, 2024, 7:29:55 AM
