As an okay player, atlas is meh
I have over 3k hours in PoE1, and have been playing a lot of PoE2. Loving it. Love the bosses, the zones, etc. There are a few things, but I think they'll be addressed. And I'm fine with the difficulty of campaign, and the resetting of the boss, since I can try as many times as it takes.
However. I have two characters at the atlas now, one of them is maybe T8 or 9 waystones. This one life per waystone thing is killing my map enjoyment. Even when I don't die, in order to better ensure a successful map, I have to skip all the extras (breach, expedition, ritual), do the map objective, and then track back. Too much risk otherwise. Meaning that I don't get to interact with these things that much, because being just an okay player, I sometimes die before I can even get to attempting them. When I do get to do them, I've had to try to remember where on the map they were and trek all over the place. And I can't put too many modifiers on my waystones and take risks because there is only the one death. (Plus losing the modifiers to the map, plus an xp penalty) I get that there are plenty of people who get enjoyment from the one death attempts, a sense of achievement. I wouldn't even care if there were a separate league below SC, maybe "SC for filthy casuals who need to git good" where we can die a few times, ideally up to the six portals. I suspect you'd get a fair number of people joining that league, no matter how demeaning you made the name of it. The only way some of us are going to be able to do endgame is with an OP meta build and even then we'll mess up enough to get frustrated and not have fun. GGG, if you don't want to change your SC league vision, please consider another more permissive difficulty. Thank you. Last bumped on Dec 28, 2024, 1:37:40 AM
