Keep the remaining portals after death on the map in the Atlas!

This absolutely infuriates me. I play on Deadeye, and my build isn't strong enough yet to tank all incoming damage and comfortably clear maps. Since it's currently very difficult to build life in the game, I have to struggle through maps with 1200 HP, dodging most of the projectiles flying at me. But sometimes, in the chaos of mobs, I miss a tiny spider running up to me and critting me. And that's it—I've lost the map, I can't redo the ritual on this map, I can't kill the boss on this map. What's the point of this useless appendix in the Atlas now, with no modifiers?
As a result, part of the Atlas becomes completely useless—just an empty spot with nothing on it. Keep the remaining 5 portals! What you've come up with is absolutely insane. Do you expect most players not to die at all? At the very least, leave the modifiers on the map where the player died (like boss on the map, rituals, delirium, e.t.c). " Have you tried... Building life, evasion, armor, energy shield, physical damage reduction, capping elemental resistance, finding damage avoidance or damage mitigation, having better positioning, better reading, better reflex, as to... NOT DIE ? |

Do you really think that destroying all portals and map modifiers after death is cool? Or that it’s somehow fun and engaging?
I don’t care about losing 10% XP. What I do care about is losing the map modifiers and the map itself over a single random death. |

" Yes, yes, and yes. I know you care. -Everybody- cares. That's the point. This is PoE2. Not PoE1. Different game. Play it differently with a different mindset. |

I agree, having only 1 attempt at a map is to much punishing, it adds exponentially to all the other difficulty layers that are already there, the 1 portal solution is overkill and pure frustration.

" Yes. It's not that this specifically is fun, it's what this leads players to doing is what is fun. The glass-cannon, 1shot the whole screen, speedclear meta of PoE1 is a massive turn-off for a big part of the playerbase. Many people quit when zoom zoom just kept getting better and better throughout PoE1's history. Creating a balanced, well-rounded build is more rewarding and interesting than not. |

" Did the difficulty modifiers magically appeared by surprise without your knowledge on your map... Or did you put them all yourself there ? Hmmmmmmmm ????? |

I hate the atlas on a more fundamental level - in that it is randomly generated and of infinite size.
It does not matter where I go, it does not matter where I have been, nothing matters. I would much rather have an atlas of limited size where you can do a map over and over, because then I will actually CARE what maps I have gone through and what ones are next. I also hate that I actually SEE the random rewards before going in, there is no surprise when entering a map. |
