Trying to trade is even worse then in PoE1, we have at least bots there that will trade you stuff.
But in PoE2 if you are needing to trade you pretty much have to spawn camp a dozend different items on the trade site and spam all the 5 people that pop up every hour with 10+ whispers and pray to whatever entity you worship to hope to even get a trade going. Just to get the notorious xyz player is not online when you message them. People just dump their stuff into a tab in hope to sell but then dont respond because they are stuck in boss fights/waystones/campaign etc. and just dont wanna respond. If you dont believe me GGG play a char on trade and try to trade for items at a reasonable price, no throwing 200 mirrors at a 1ex trade and see how long it will take you. Just as a fyi as i type this i'm trying to get a unique item for up to 10 ex that usually goes for up to 5ex and i have been up to that for like 3 hours now. I hope i will manage to acquire it while it still is 2024.... TLDR: Trade without an AH is a horrible waste of Time right now! FIX THIS S***! Last bumped on Dec 27, 2024, 11:58:10 AM

Yeah .. the trade system is really bad.
In a game where you have players constantly clearing maps and fighting bosses, a trade system that is based on whispering and meeting up to trade just breaks the game flow so much. Why was this not a consideration before release? Do they really think people want to portal out of their gameplay to trade items whenever someone writes them about an item they sell? |

They talked about the reason they dont put an action house in the game before but i just wish GGG change their mind, i simply can't imagine how bad it must be for console players to do any trade in the game, at least on pc is easy but i'm a big defender of the idea that if a game makes you alt tab the game failed at that specific system

Tbh i don't really mind the alt+tab that much anymore, what annoys me the most is that sometimes you message someone just to see them relist the same item for 10x or 100x and letting it rot in their stash. So you have just participated in an online price check that essentially removed the item from the market all together.
Because certainly someone will buy my +3 minion staff for 3 div. |

Trade is a time waste and disruption of gameplay. You have to stop playing the game, browse the trade site to find something that fits what you want and start whispering people hoping for a response. If they're doing a map, fighting a boss, afk, or whatever, they won't respond. So you can only trade when the seller happens to already be in their hideout which is the minority of the time.
When you try to sell items, you will get messaged constantly while mapping or doing other things, and thus ignore it. The buyer thinks you're a jerk, price fixer, bot, or whatever. With an auction house style system you can list your item to trade and sell without any further input while you continue playing the game. If you're trying to buy something, you can search for the perfect item and click purchase, done instantly, back to playing the game straight away. No time wasted. I don't care about friction, I care about my time. The instant I have to spend hours trying to trade to progress in the game I'm done (happened last week). I spent nearly 3 hours to buy 3 items, then I quit. I have limited time and in that time I want to play the game, not whisper people who ignore me. I'd just rather spend my time playing other games where I GET TO PLAY THE DAMNED GAME. |

No thanks. You folks already can't stop yourselves from turning this game into a 401K spreadsheet. AH will only exacerbate this silly habit.

The simpliest possible solution would be to give (or sell as MTX) us another NPC to place in a hideout to deal with all the buyers while we're mapping and whatnot.
Literally everything else could stay the same. You find what you need on trading site, send the trade request, get invititation from the bot, TP in, complete the transaction and be on your way. It's still an unnecessary bloat, but it could be done in a matter of few days by a single GGG employee without changing much in current system. " trade is 100x quicker than finding the gear yourself, thats why you do it. its not costing you time, tis saving you insane amounts of time. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" +1000 There is nothing WORSE than spamming whisp UNNECESSALLY and after some time reading that the buyer is offline or that the item is no longer available. Or that the website crashed. They added the Currency trading system that is so good, it's great and fast. If you slow down the gameplay on one side (ok, I can take it) you have to "compensate" on the other side but not make it worse and more slow. |
