PoE 1 PC servers are restarting in: .
They should be back up in approximately .Random deaths at stuff which is invisible
I'm starting to get sick of playing melee. Dying the 10th time into something totally random. This last time it seemed like the rare was casting ice around itself, that instantly exploded and killed me when I hit the monster.
Another great one was rare that is frozen casting herald of thunder etc. which is impossible to distinguish from my own effects. Then there are some casters, that drop meteorites, which fall so fast they can not be avoided (melee problem, since hitting, evading and going back to hit again is more or less a required play style) Also, sometimes the fire damage seem to be overtuned greatly. I enjoy the content otherwise, as a casual player, but running through a keystone, without any huge issues and suddenly getting one-tapped without realizing you are in a danger really sucks. I understand that this happens with map bosses and uniques, but not with a rare, that is the same level as the other "not so dangerous" monsters on The same map. I rolled Monk. I have 87% evasion, 80ish% armor, capped resists, 2100hp.
I am essentially one-shotting all non-hp-boosted mobs in T15 maps, and proccing herald of ice explosions on first hits with a good setup, so I move very quickly by dashing from pack-to-pack. I die 4/5 maps doing this because when I kill a pack, they often explode (or have a rare in them who explodes?) and I die. It's instantaneous, and I have to artificially limit my clear speed, intentionally hold back from looting anything that drops, etc -- because I just fall over otherwise. Combine the fact that I am playing a marginally slower paced PoE 1 with 1-shot mechanics of PoE 2 that truly only belong in the campaign acts 1-3, and I have effectively decided that at 250 hours, I am done for now. On to Tarkov tomorrow. Last edited by Psychomyth#2342 on Dec 25, 2024, 9:24:32 PM

" Good for you, this is my feeling. Im on a spark scorceress having to clear from behind a corner because I'll randomly die to almost any mob, even if 99% of mobs wont kill me ever. But that 1% over time means 20% of maps I will lose if I play to have fun. Or I could just play POE and do things like delve and heist where you need to be moving fast to live, so i get the risk/reward, but I am forced to play in a fun, fast and furious way, instead of a boring-ass, why would anyone use their time on this chore way. |

Yeah i'm dying to random invisible unexpected stuff constantly too. In the current state of the game if you want to have at least some survivability you're forced to go ES. Armour or Evasion without ES is worthless and there's no way to gradually increase your max HP(but tons of ways to increase ES and Mana pool) to tank incoming damage if evasion fails. Having like 87% evasion while your HP is 1,5-2k means nothing because eventually you'll get hit by something and it's 100 to 0 instantly. There's a node that allows evade all hits but cuts your evasion by 70% so you'r 87% evasion will drop around 50% and you'll end up in the same situation.
To sum it up for me it looks like currently if you want to survive you MUST go ES(and Chaos Inoculation preferably) no matter what class you play. Sadge. Last edited by Izanami_Rin#4749 on Dec 26, 2024, 12:15:55 AM

Been struggling with this more today.
Recoded videos of the deaths and in some cases, going frame by frame, there is something small on the ground that explodes and kills me. Or, like just happened, a rare electrocuted me after it was dead. And there were absolutely no way possible to see that it might happen. I mean literally, not even from the frame by frame inspection. Keeping up the maps is literally impossible with melee, unless you buy gear. And naturally trading on console is almost impossible. |
