Will there be a hard reset when the game officially launches?

As the title states, I am curious what will happen with our EA characters when the game officially releases. Will they remain in the standard realm, or will all progress during EA be erased prior to official release?

They will remain in a locked away void league, separate from standard and (obviously) separate from new leagues, but still playable.

I find it cool that GGG is letting us keep what we have without impacting the actual launch of the game.

" Don't hold your breath; Assuming they don't go back on their word (which is highly likely since their track record on that regard is atrocious), what you'll get will be more akin to a gallery. What do I mean by this? The game will change so drastically within a year or two, that ALL your EA characters will be absolutely worthless unplayable garbage. So even if they do let us keep them in a separate locked "past/voided" playable league so that we can log in on them, it is highly unlikely that you'll be able to play them in any enjoyable capacity. Basically the same thing that happens in standard in PoE1. You have to reinvent your build every patch because they make such sweeping changes that everything stops working. By the way, 10 years ago GGG used to claim that "you'll always be able to play in standard if you just want to play your old characters, or if you're someone who doesn't have enough time to play the leagues". Yeah, that went out of the window real fast. I don't think any poor dad who gets 2 hours of gaming a week can sustain a character in standard. Love the games. PoE1 way more so than PoE2, but still enjoying both. Hate the company. The scummy, lying, fake and shitty facade, the excuses, the failures, and most of all, the "Vision". " It worked for me, my characters are 10 years old, never played a new league, I always played on standard. Thanks to free respecs I never had to recreate my characters. Tech guy

" takes about 5 mins to put your character back together once every 3 months. i dont think ive ever had "everything stopped working". some things have occasionally stopped being good enough and ive had to pivot a build into a different main skill or ascendancy. its very rare tho. i tend to maintain 5-10 builds playable there and in 12 years could probably count on one hand the amount of times ive had to make significant changes that couldnt be plotted out and implemented in 5 minutes. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Most likely yes, the EA standard "server" or league will be separated from actual release of standard league.
