Who Actually Thinks XP Loss is a Good Mechanic?
|
I have always hated XP loss in any game that uses XP as a mechanic. It totally ruins people trying new things, seeing what works, seeing how far they can push content.
Everyone is just going to copy paste an endgame build from content creators because this game is too punishing - Respec costs - Losing maps on death/single portal maps - Xp loss on death I mean, who is this game made for? Streamers who play 10 hours a day? Gold farmers? I just want to try a bunch of different builds until I figure out something that works for me. Kill high density maps without stress of failure causing me to lose tons of progress. I want this game to be fun. Last bumped on Dec 25, 2024, 3:37:30 AM

agreed
its punishing enough that we straight up lose the entire map and/or reset the whole instance. I have lost so many items on DOT kills and instance resets |

You should fear death, yes, and failure as well. It's a very modern way of thinking that you can just press your hand down on the scales of balance and pure joy and bliss will come to you without an equal amount of work or struggle, but it simply is never going to work that way. You're only cheapening and devaluing your experience thinking like this.
As for trying out builds... you aren't losing out on experience until level 70. You have plenty of time to experiment. |

Not a huge fan of it, think the current 10% is a bit much, especially once you surpass lvl 80. Sure it's fairly easy to make it back if you do maps close to your level, but these tier 10+ maps doesn't exactly drop like candy either. Wouldn't mind seeing the exp loss be removed or at least reduced to 5%.
