the trials are ruining the game

I've played POE1 quite a bit and mostly love the changes in POE2, except for the trials, which both suck horribly. it's so frustrating to lock ascendancy behind highly randomized trials which can screw you over and over. Izaro/Lab in POE1 might not have been perfect (steep learning curve for new players followed by becoming too easy for experienced players), but the new system for POE2 is a HUGE REGRESSION and it SUCKS!

it's incredibly painful to breeze through a trial on one character (by getting nothing but escape challenges, for example) and few afflictions only for the next char to get hammered repeatedly with much harder challenges and crushing afflictions. especially in the ultimatum where the last boss is OP for probably most players/builds unless you level way past 38 and then come back.

I honestly don't know if there's any point to making little tweaks like 35% less honor damage at close range. the whole premise sucks for mandatory content. sure, go ahead and leave them in there for players who like them, but as far as ascendancy goes just F*ING scrap them and put in something that isn't so damn RNG dependent. it feels like the trial parameter RNG is around 80% of determining whether I can pass the damn thing and skill/execution is only 20%, which is an absolutely awful place to be.

PLEASE TAKE THE FEEDBACK GGG! I know I am not alone here, I haven't seen a single positive opinion on the trials. you tried something, it failed hard, please listen to the feedback and find another direction. I am not sure I'll keep playing the beta, let alone the full game, if serious changes aren't made here. I love trying all the classes and playing lots of characters into the early endgame vs just playing one and trying to get to the absolute peak, so I have no desire to suffer over and over through RNG hell to unlock the biggest power ups in the game

They just need to either get rid of the honor crap. 99% of the time my run ends because I run out of honor.
I managed to get the CHaos one done finally level 45.. after about 15 fails - I cant see the 3 or 4th one being any easier.. BUT I hope they dont change it until all items are falling and crafting is opened up. Until then it will be a chore but its doable but difficult...

The game lacks a power floor.

2 Quests needed to craft an item that guarantees a minimum power level.
and craft chest armour that doesnt suck.

Then you can have a challenge knowing the minimum power level.
Until that ... rng

Challenge should be hard for power floor
Cake walk for experienced player.

power is supposed to come from your tree/gems and get supported ultimately by gear. If your gear is utter garbage you should either buy gear supporting your build, or switching to a build which is less reliant on getting supported by gear initially

This is all from a newbie, but if they really wanted to keep the honor system, what about making is so honor is only used until the boss, then against the boss it's a straight fight? I feel bad for warriors who build life regen only for their build to be useless.

no difference there

MoM doesn't get its recovery and always builds towards it. ES doesn't get its recharge.

JUST that ES is overperforming SO much currently you literally can enter the trial with 14k+ honor without big investments if you go ES, thats not accounting for relics
