Crafting is a joke...
This is by far the worse crafting system in all ARPG i've played. D4 included. Be honest and just call it lottery.
Im lvl90 and had the same weapon since what lvl75? Been trying to craft a good weapon for ages and sank so many orbs/essences/greater essences/etc but it always end up in pure junk. Some modifiers seems to be heavily weighted like Accuraccy rating, minimum requirement and also seems to be aggressively disproportionate weighted to the bottom tiers. Of course it should be this way but cmon, getting T1/T2 on expert bases consistently is laughing in our faces. So basically, itemization is bad. I mean really, really bad. This needs a whole rework altogether. Just funnelling players in trade for improving their gear is just LAZY on ur part and if this is the way you want it to be, count me out. For me, being a self-found cultist, making progress gear wise and making my toon more powerful progressivly but consistently more powerful is MY dopamine rush. Tons of power in crafting if you know what you're doing. I suggest doing some deeper research, especially POEDB (you're right about stat weight)
More research, less REE = better items. Step 1 is to self reflect.

The crafting mats we are supposed to use (greater essences and chaos omens basicly dont exist currently) feel free to correct me if theres some other way im missing. But currently its just waiting for the right base to drop then using regular essence to get the right stat, then praying for good exalt rolls. I dont see what else you can do... | |
Yeah I didn't even think about how much worse PoE 2 crafting is from PoE 1. Can't reroll at all, can you?
I may be missing some tools. It's not as if it's explained anywhere. You can only add properties from what I have seen so far. |

I started with POEDB to get a good knowledge of the bases i want for crafting, learned to do things in the right order but doesnt change the fact that itemization just sucks rocks.
I know there are more powerful options to craft like omens, etc...Problem is it's a catch 22...You want to be able to get through high tier maps to get better drops and better crafting mats but if my quarterstaff is hitting like a wet noodle,i'll eventually get mobbed. With better itemization, you insure a smoother progresion into endgame and get better prepared for the tougher content. Right now, were hitting a brick wall. So...cant tackle high tier maps (i mean juiced up corrupted tier16 ones) cos my gears is too mid and I cant craft better weapons without the mats dropping in those maps that would help me get there. Only thing left is trade. I mean, I would have to pay what 40+ Divine orbs to get a decent weapon. After 250+ hours, I dropped 4 total. Sure I could look at every single rare and evaluate their worth but...its a game, not a stock exchange simulator. |

There is no "crafting system" in this game. This is an oversimplified,stripped down husk of what PoE 1 has. No deterministic stuff, no fossils, essences suck, no fracture,no veiled orb, no scours,no alts nothing. It's just full-on gacha gambling lol
All you're doing is slamming items with exalted orbs, no matter how hype that might have seemed in "The Vision" in reality its a bad system. The fact that you just brick an item after an aug/regal and then just vendor it also makes item bases worth nothing. It's so garbage I have no idea who decided to just delete scours and alts when those are literally so integral to the crafting system. And runes are just a bad replacement for crafting bench. Just bring back the bench instead of wasting more dev time and resources trying to balance these runes which only exist to be a d2 reference. Some things are bad to have in a game, doesn't matter if "d2 had it". But I'm not surprised, original Harvest did get nerfed even though it was the best crafting league which made making cool items accessible to a more wide range of people. This horrible "crafting" system is yet another thing in this game that's gonna bore and burn out players till they quit. |

Yeah, it’s absolute trash. I port to town 2-3 times every map to disenchant every rare because that’s what they’re worth.

It's trash and nothing anyone says about "if you do it right" can convince me otherwise. Essenes are so insanely rare that any "deterministic" part of the "crafting" may as well not even exist, and even then it only effects one mod. Crafting is just a glorified slot machine you pump orbs into hoping you win.

If we're talking relatable, easy to use & acquire power in the hands of users I'd much rather have things from PoE1 like: Crafting Bench [with meta crafting support] High Tier Essences Fractured items Annulment Orbs Scouring Orbs Eldritch Currency Harvest Reforge Veiled Orb slams |
