Addressing Rarity (Feedback and Suggeston)

Rarity of items should be removed from gear. Rarity and Quantity of items should be removed from Way stones as an explicit. Why you may ask? Well if you get into a group or solo and stack all of these bonuses on top of each other. You flood the market with items, currency, etc. Crash the market, flood the market, and ruin the market. Especially if you choose to play solo, you are not going to enjoy the market experience, if you don't stack these bonuses. You feel pigeon holed into finding gear with this stat for farming loot.

Here is how I think we fix it. We remove quantity and rarity from gear and way stones. Then quantity and rarity are inherent bonuses in the way stone quantity drop rate multiplier. The higher the way stone quantity, aka the more difficult the map is, the more rarity and quantity you get. Therefore the better stats you have on your gear, the stronger you are, the higher difficulty you complete, the better and more loot you get. Simple. Being rewarded for the more difficult task you complete, by being strong and willing, gets you more loot. Sounds like a strong, simple game play loop.

Plus if we don't have rarity being a dead stat on gear we take just to get more and better loot. We can have a better stat which allows us to take on greater challenge and for that we are rewarded.

is this another one of those empyrian group haters who refuse to realize they have to split what they make 7 ways and help bring the price of certain items down allot.
empyrean and other blasters always make 1000x more than others because they basically run an organized loot grinding corporation. Of course they gonna be more effective than a sunday dad gamer lol. They are outlier, not standard.

Ngl, rarity is kinda overtuned right now even from dad gamer perspective. It applies 3-10x multiplier to your div per hour which makes playing non-MF characters pretty pointless. And unlike diablo 2 it doesn't even cost that much character power. In D2 you had to socket ists or ptopazes for mf, you had to use craptastic items like alibaba or goldwrap - there was a big hit to your power. Cos in place of that ptopaz you can socket a ber for 8% phys DR. There was diminishing returns on MF and it didn't effect actual valuable drops (high rune) at all. Farming with max power char with little MF was still not too far behind MF char.

Not the case in POE 2.

Diablo 2 had a great magic find system. For those not familiar with it:

It had no effect on drop rates for any items. You didn't get more runes, or weapons, or anything else.

It only affected items that could drop at different rarities (magic, rare, set, unique).

When the item dropped, the MF was applied to see what rarity the item dropped at. The % increase had diminishing returns for the higher rarity.

See: this chart

So if you had 200% magic find, a longsword that dropped was three times as likely to be magic, about 150% more likely to be rare, and twice as likely to be unique. If you wanted your chances to be three times as likely for uniques, you'd need 800% magic find.
