Feedback and Favorites: Accessibility & More in PoE2 Early Access

My husband and I have been playing Path of Exile since the beta for PoE1, and we recently decided to dive into PoE2. As longtime fans, we've really enjoyed exploring the new content and have been especially impressed with the quality of the MTX in PoE1 — some of the best we've seen! While we've never made a forum post before, we wanted to share some suggestions for accessibility and quality of life improvements, as well as highlight the things we absolutely love about the game. Our thoughts are below!

Accessibility Suggestions:

Colorblind mode: My husband is red/green colorblind and struggles with visibility, which impacts many aspects of the game (listed below). I also have general vision issues and struggle with dim lighting and small text.

Subtitles for cutscenes without chat: I missed what was said during the opening cutscene when choosing a character due to no subtitles.

Improved mob visibility: Allow thicker outlines or color changes for enemies without needing to hover over them.

Better differentiation for minions/party members: Early on, it was hard to tell minions apart from enemies. Consider customizable colors or outlines for these entities.

Improved hit feedback: The red screen outline when hit looks too similar to the death screen, making it hard to tell if I'm dead or dying. A different color might help.

Customize MTX/ability visibility: Allow us to toggle or recolor MTX and abilities from party members to prevent visual overload. Turning off party member skill effects or limiting MTX on our end would also be helpful.

Passive skill tree search visibility: When searching the tree, the glow is faint and difficult to spot, especially with a brighter UI setting. A stronger glow or customizable brightness could help.

Quality of Life Improvements:

Skill source differentiation: It’s unclear which skills come from weapons/armor versus gems. A small icon (e.g., a weapon or armor symbol) could help. My husband noted that gems have a swirling on/off animation, but this isn’t intuitive.

Access to gem screen: There’s no direct way to open the gem screen without using a gem. I searched the keybindings and couldn’t find anything.
Passive tree planner integration: Implement an in-game planner or integrate with the official PoE website. Switching between third-party tools and the game is cumbersome, and an in-game solution would be incredibly useful.

What We Love:

HP globe effects: The visual feedback is excellent! When multiple effects are active, does the one causing the most damage take precedence, or do they overlap?

Cursor and environment lighting on globes: This detail is both functional and immersive.

The dressing room: Amazing feature!

Voice acting: Tane and Sin are absolutely fantastic. Sin’s voice is particularly mesmerizing
Spoiler
(in the first game - I was high key inconsolable when I saw him in Poe2 but realized he did not have the same VA).
Spoiler
Draven and Count Geonor also deserve love—men who simp for their partners? Yes, please! Even if the betrayal is tragic, Count Geonor, you deserve better. <3

Ground-impact effects: The way raised dirt or rubble ‘melts’ back into the ground is incredibly satisfying.

Forum autosave: I accidentally closed a tab mid-post, and it was still there when I reopened—lifesaver!

My husband is already at maps (he definitely plays more than I do), while I’m more of a casual player who loves running around with him and looking pretty! That said, I feel like some of the accessibility improvements mentioned could make the overall experience better for everyone and help newer players get into the game more easily. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this—we really appreciate all the effort that goes into making Path of Exile 2 such a great experience!

It's me her husband.

I have a few things I'd like to add as someone in the endgame. I've done up to tier 9s so far, not super hardcore but not casual either, mostly making new builds and trying new stuff. Some of these are pretty obvious/already suggested but I want to add my voice to the pile.

Citadel's need to be a lot more common, with how hard the pinnacle content is at the later difficulties combined with one portal, getting an attempt every 20 hours of gameplay feels incredibly bad.

Visual clarity is definitely better than POE1, but we're at the beginning of the game so I can see it getting as bad, probably keep on top of that before it's too late. On that note, delirium is still really shit for someone like me that is very red-weak in the red-green colorblind department, been like that since POE1.
