Sorc help, being wrecked by poison in act 3

So, I'm new to poe and don't understand how poison works but in act 3 I am being absolutely destroyed by anything that spits poison at me. How do you defend against poison?

I believe the stats that could help are +chaos resistance and reduced time poisoned. Even a little bit can help mitigate a few attacks so you can kite to safety and use a potion.

Edit: you can also equip a charm that offers chaos resistance.

Poison does double damage to energy shield. Still, just get as much life, energy shield, and chaos resist as you can, and most of all, try not to get hit.

Rolls shoot roll shoot, hide behind walls/trees

Use a charm with poison immunity, it should be enough.
