Towers

There should be some kind of affix/suffix to waystone or another item that makes when you complete a tower using that instead of just revealing maps around the tower, it transform the maps around it in a type that was on the item used. Like if you wanna only do desert maps or crypt maps etc. PoE1 nailed it as you can easily just run maps you enjoy , in poe 2 to progress you always have to run the maps that are on the path and its really unfun to have to run 3-4 layouts you hate ( Mire for example ) just to get to the map you actually enjoy and run it one time only.
