About inflicting ailments...

Hi Guys:

There are passive skill tree nodes that state: "Increased chance to inflict ailments".

Now, I have some questions, please:

I imagine this means that I NEED cold damage to be able to chill or freeze and fire damage to be able to ignite? Because without those base damage types, the increased ailment chance doesn't even count?

2) How do I inflict Bleed, please? I don't seem to see it occur simply from doing physical damage as a Warrior. Do I absolutely need the bleed passive tree skills or the bleed support gem?

3) Will these "Increased chance to inflict ailments" stack with a "increased chance to inflict bleed on hit" passive tree skill?

Yes and no. You don't necessarily need the proper type of damage to trigger an ignite. However, Ignites ONLY look at fire damage from the triggering attack for how much damage it deals. Similarly Chills / Freezes ONLY look at cold damage for how much they slow or their duration. However, there are ways around this, but you'd also need to pair it with some way to inflict those ailments (either by the default effects of a skill, an ascendancy or other passive.

Like most ailments, it needs a direct source. Some skills can inflict bleeds as per their abilities, something like a Bleed Support, or a Passive skill that grants you Bleeds. It's got to come from somewhere. Note that Poison works in the same way.

Yes. Bleed is an Ailment. If you're boosting your chance to inflict ailments, you'll also boost your Bleeds. Note, most of these are not flat additives, so a Increased Chance to Inflict Ailments will do you no good if you're base chance to bleed is 0%. But even just 5% Bleed will get increased by "Increased Chance to Inflict Ailments".
Thank you for your wonderful answers.

Blessings.
Afterthought just to be clear, there are many ailment modifiers that change "Elemental Ailments". Make sure to read carefully, as bleed is not an elemental ailment.
