Disable Gameplay Event Voices sound option doesn't work
I have the Disable Gameplay Event Voices checked in the sound options, but I still get these horridly tacky, immersion-shattering voice lines while I'm in combat: "Got you!", "Crack You!", "Fool!", "Die, scum!", "Pathetic!"
And holy crap is it annoying. I'll forgo ranting about how this kind of behavior from playable characters cheapens the gameplay experience and transforms it from an interesting tale about a humble character slowly becoming more powerful by overcoming increasingly difficult obstacles into a mass-murdering madman slogging through trivial, insignificant hordes of helpless meatbags unfortunate enough to be between her and the next door. I hope these tacky voice lines are what this sound option was meant to disable. If so, I'm excited for this bug to be fixed. If that's not what this option was meant to address... then boy, do I have a feature request! Last bumped on Apr 6, 2025, 8:19:08 PM

I second this. I really despise the Scion voice-over. I WANT to play her but her voice-over is cringe and does not fit the game at all.

I also wish this was possible, I hate those voice lines as well.

Forgive my recent post. I realize now this is meant for PoE 2. Not 1. Also, for those who are wondering, the player character voices for PoE 1 are located in Path of Exile\Bundles2\Audio\Dialogue\Character - Whatever attributes your character originally specialized in (ex. Ranger is Dex) is their voice bin.

I've been annoyed by this since day 1. My character talks to me sooooooo often. A dozen times a minute in some cases; mostly not ready dialogue (cooldown). I've even started looking for workarounds for it with no luck. The harder I try to find a way to turn this off, the more it annoys me. Same goes for that new private message sound. The volume will not lower on it at all.

That setting specifically is for stuff like when you are out of mana or you try to pick stuff off the ground and your inventory is full. AFAIK there is no setting to disable your character random voice lines, without disabled also boss/monster combat lines and stuff - which is pretty annoying.
