Move Speed Being Mandatory

Edit: actually I feel like giving all boots ms and "replacing" the ms suffix with dodge roll stats could be cool. We could get things like speed of dodge roll, distance of dodge roll, reduced recovery after it etc. It would be more varried than ms

Then the dodge roll affixes become mandatory.

It's not difficult to get MS on boots.

Certainly it feels better to have more speed though. The fastest toon in the game is monk and it feels good to play
Nah, mobility is fine. Move speed on boots is comfortable but not mandatory ; this game isn't designed to be a zoom-fest, you can dodge -almost- all bosses mecanics with a good visual reading and understanding of the fight, and positioning accordingly without ever needing ultra high move speed or teleport. You can even kite mobs quite well with the added cast while moving and gems reducing the induced slow.

But of course "efficient" players can't accept slotting gems which aren't +% dps, even if it would make their game much nicer to play ; can't accept playing one big map while they could play three small maps, even if it would result in the same drop rate ; for some reasons - and can't have fun if anything is paced differently that the old game they used to try hard, where +%move speed became absolutely mandatory to clean content due to quicker and quicker enemy design and boss attack ; which isn't the case here...

It doesn't matter if you play one map in one hour or ten maps in one hour. It doesn't matter if you play all acts in ten hours or reach level 100 in ten hours. What matters is that you play X hours, and most people enjoy the X hours they spend playing, while some others are complaining and don't enjoy it, but somehow, they still play it...

Damage affixes are mandatory on weapons, but we have a variety of them so it's fine. Right now the dodge roll is the only stat on our character that's unscalable and having a variety of stats for it would make some better for certain builds and worse for others. I feel like it's a win-win.

And it's not difficult but other games have done it better. LE has ms as an inherent stat on boots and GD has many other ways to get MS for example.
Finished campaign with my -8% movement speed (no idea from what) Warrior and it was a good experience. Movement speed is a choice like any other that makes the game more your style.
- Some want to hit more often some want to hit harder
- More dodge or ES on Monk?
- Some want to move faster, some want to have more resists.
So you take movement speed instead of something else and that's that.
I don't feel it's mandatory for larger maps, I feel movement speed is mandatory for any non-tank build. If you can move fast enough (I have +25%) you can keep ahead of enemies in ritual or breach (sometimes), else if you're slow you just get mobbed until you can't move and die.
Correct me if I am wrong, one of the reason I find that MS is mandatory because of boss fights.

As an example, my witch can chose ES, spell and minion nodes near the starting area.

With Ranger, she can pretty much pick most of the MS nodes.

By having MS, you pretty much can walk over most bosses attack. Jamanra, Geonor are two very obvious bosses. With MS, you can pretty much just, run. Don't even need to dodge roll.

There was also another 2 tomb bosses in act 1, with multiple AOE. Without MS, you really need to be dodge roll. The window of attack is so small if you are not going for minions and without MS. With my ranger, I can easily kite them.

So yes, +1. MS is mandatory.

If the speed is good and comfortable then you agree with me it shouldn't be on the boots as an affix.

The affix existing is my problem. It gets considered as part of game design and encounter design.

It either needs to be baked in by default like given as progress from campaign boss completion, or a default of boot tier.

The fact move speed is a possible option that CAN appear on boots at various Tiers makes it too precious an AFFIX.

It needs to go as a possible RGN thing on Boots.
