Low Skill POE2 players are trying to ruin POE2. GGG please wake up
Low skill POE2 players who find POE1 too hard are trying to ruin POE2. Dodge roll is not hard, doesn't take long to get the hang of it. The complexity and crafting and loot of POE1 is second to none.
We understand the game is in early access and it needs work. Do not listen to the very loud but small minority of fornite and palworld players who have recently discovered the franchise on tiktok and believe they know everything about what the game SHOULD be like. In 2 months they'll move on to the next game trending on twitter and they'll be gone. Last bumped on Dec 21, 2024, 9:16:12 PM

" No one is complaining about POE1 being too hard. People are enjoying POE2, while others are complaining that it's too hard or it's not POE1 enough. If you want to play POE1, it's still right where you left it. |

I know it's really not age appropriate for him, even if it's not any worse than me playing D1 at his age, but I played couch co-op with my nephew (12 yo) yesterday. He wanted a challenge, so I told him we would play with brand new characters, without touching anything in my stash and not using anything that we didn’t loot.
We had a blast. Died a couple of times (5 or 6, especially to late Act 1 bosses) and you know what he said? He loves the game, the crossbows/grenades and... the best of it? The challenge! He considered D4 to be too easy and not challenging enough ... and he's a kid. He even dodge rolled like crazy and saved our duo through a couple of boss fights. He loves dodge rolling and got the hang of it pretty quickly. My take is that they should tweak some things (earlier Trials) to be more melee friendly and maybe help new characters with crafting tutorials and maybe add back the crafting bench, but the overall campaign difficulty is honestly just fine. I hope they keep their stance on this. PoE2 should not be a new PoE1. Last edited by pyrocyborg#0256 on Dec 21, 2024, 6:50:33 PM

1 click and the map is clear after you spam movement skill poe1 is just a game too abuse , poe1 semi-veteran (not real one) are the most crybaby in my opinion i remember ggg team trying too balance the game for new league , and again poe1 player cry a river because the nerf are to big /facepalm , . a longtime ego the dev told you poe1 will continue to be support , the dev make very clear poe2 will be balance play my first rpg on the intellivision :) Chris Wilson"I want to make sure that melee classes are as good as they can be" Last edited by charley222#3935 on Dec 21, 2024, 6:58:45 PM

Difficulty settings. Casual setting is a percentage decrease in enemy damage and hp and increase in drops. Free respects and gem recuts. GGG can check death rates and adjust accordingly.
I'm not playing until they fix the gem and respec problems, but I like the difficulty, so I'd be out of luck. | |
" Hi, I'd like to respond to this. I have over 8000 hours in POE, have multiple level 100s, have gotten 36-40 challenges in many leagues, so I'm an not one of these players you are referencing. Actually, from where I'm standing, you are one of those players who seems to move on really quick to another game...(something about stones and glass houses /s). Jokes aside, I personally agree with players you say are "trying to ruin POE2". The game is too punishing. I think the difficulty is in a good place, but the game is currently too punishing in end game. One death in maps leads to: - Loss of the entire Map and any materials you used to roll it - A massive XP loss - Loss of any loot on the ground you didn't pick up - Loss of mechanics that were on that map forever - Loss of any drops from monster/Bosses that remained in that map Also you only ever get on try at any boss...good luck learning their mechanics when you need to spend 100+ Exalt or 10+ hours to be able to try again! During the campaign dying results in: - No consumption of a limited resources (ie no map loss) - No XP loss - Monsters respawn, so you get MORE loot - Bosses Repaawn, so you get MORE loot and can try as many times as you want to kill them/learn their mechanics. - Most additional area encounters respawn, so even MORE loot You still do have: - Loss of loot on the ground From you feedback, it sounds like you haven't beaten the campaign (I would be curious what your opinion of the game is once you get to endgame). If you haven't gotten to endgame, the POE2 you've been playing is much, much easier than you think it is. |

Like most things, the answer lies between two extremes. I like the challenge in most places, but there are certain cheap mechanics and one-shots that seem over-kill for normal mode difficulty.

" i agree. Also, there are mechanics that are just annoying. dont add difficulty, just annoyance. |

" Braindead take. No company is going to support 2 products that are extremely similar and cannibalize each other's market share. One of the 2 games will be put on life support in the coming years and we should strive to take the best of the old with the new |

" And not even that, i´ve played PoE 1 for over 12 years and supported the company, if the company alienates me now making a new product that does not resemble at least to some extent the product i supported and love i will just quit all together,, i have faith they will actually listen to serious feedback and fix at least the most glaring issues i have with the game, if they dont i will move on and give my money to another company, it is that simple, not gonna stuck with them playing a dated game that they promised they would make a sequel to.
