Possible Soft Lock for Side content ACT 3

Soo, this may be unintentional due to the Act 3 to Act 1 Cruel function in place for the Gateway, but, if you have done what I have done, which is, forget to do the sacrifice heart side quest for the 2 Weapon Passive skills in ACT3 and proceed to ACT 4 (Act 1 Cruel). You are unable to return to

What I have also discovered, is that the waypoint in ACT 3 during that time, becomes unusable and pretty much traps you there until you move through the gateway (or head to any other zone manually and find the waypoint there). Like is said above. This is likely unintended as the devs are using the gateway as a function to start ACT 1 Cruel, and as such, when ACT 4 releases, we will likely not have this problem. Ok, found a work around. Spoiler tagged for those who have not seen the story.

I used the ACT 3 Cruel Waypoints to access the Past, then use the waypoints in ACT 3 Cruel to teleport to the Ziggurat in ACT 3 Normal, which allowed me to bypass the Gateway and gain access to ACT 3's Past properly and I can go finish off the quest to Sacrifice the Heart.
I would recommend you do all side quests before progressing to the next zones, just in case something like this happens. I happened to skip the ACT 3 Sacrifice Heart Quest, simply because I finished both zones without getting a heart to drop and decided to come do it later. Reach the endgame and realised I was 2 Passive skills short when I compared my monk and witch. Although I have noticed that the ziggurat Waypoint in both ACT 3 normal and Cruel become de-active and unusable once you have retrieved Doriyani. |
