Mapping is not fun in it's current state.
200 hours into the game with a character worth around 100 divines, I can confidently say that mapping is in the worst state I could ever imagine this EA would be released with.
You spend at least between 10 and 20 minutes setting up the landscape, getting rid of nodes with terrible map layouts and juicing up the towers (which are a pointless mechanic btw) just to be able to MAYBE start having fun. And I say maybe because even with all that done, the BS is just about to start. After your hard work, you FINALLY start doing what you wanted to do from the start: Farming your favorite maps / mechanics. But HEY, don't get too excited, you only have ONE PORTAL, so you have to make it count; better be careful, pay close attention to the million on-death effects, make sure you're not standing in anything bad and... >Proceed to get one shot by a mob that charged at you fast AF from out of screen. Of course, this is just one example of the million things that can go wrong, even if you're very careful and have a character that is perfectly capable (both in damage and survivability) of doing the content. Now all that time spent setting everything up to start having fun is GONE, along with the node, waystone, and any desire to do it all over again. I really gave this system a shot, tanked through the BS and kept pushing to see if it would grow on me. It hasn't. With all said, I really enjoy the gameplay, and killing monsters is as fun as ever. Sadly, the current mapping system requires an unsustainable state of mind , of permanent high alert gameplay with no chill whatsoever and such an unfair punishment system that I cannot call it fun. I look forward to upcoming changes. Last edited by Moisesu#3211 on Dec 21, 2024, 9:18:05 AM Last bumped on Dec 21, 2024, 9:13:47 AM
