Endgame feels pointless?
So I've reached maps and all I get is: complete ten t1 maps, then t2, then t3... and I am bored by reaching t5 after finishing 50 maps, it's the same shit, nothing exciting happens, loot is just bad as ever and no purpose, no uber bosses, nothing to do.
There's nothing explained. Sometimes I find riftgates, I put map there and nothing happens. I have quest to investigate some burning citadel, but I can't interact with it on the map. So I just move from node to node without any goal and purpose, no matter if i go left, right, up or down, everything is the same bland boring shit. Campaign was good, but this part feels like completely different game. Last edited by Gosen#5296 on Dec 21, 2024, 7:30:08 AM Last bumped on Dec 21, 2024, 12:13:04 PM

Erm, this is exactly like with other popular aRPGs?
Diablo 3 - make a build and grind Greater Rifts for gear upgrades, gem upgrades, and paragon grind. Diablo 4 - make a build and grind Pit for gear upgrades, and paragon grind. PoE 2 / PoE 1 - make a build and grind Maps for gear upgrades. This is quite literally the bread and butter of action RPGs: Make build ~> Grind X ~> Get gear upgrades ~> Grind X more efficiently or on higher difficulty for more gear upgrades ~> Repeat Sometimes these kind of games also have some additional side activities aimed at creating illusion as if it is not at all about the above mentioned formula - but that is just distraction of attention or the in-game mechanism to offer a 'break' from main loop without quitting the game itself. |

Because it is boring. It's unfinished and rushed, they'll most likely add more league mechanics to it later and completely overhaul the quests that ask you to do "X Tier X Maps" into a progression system that actually makes sense.

" Except in poe2 rarity is everything which adds so much frustration.. Why bother playing 0 rarity build for defences and get dry map... thats whats really bothering me. I dislike rarity so much im almost quitting poe2. GGG.

" Drops quality - yeah, +1 that it is disappointing and catering too much to trading. SSF should offering more items with higher quality, but instead it is just 1:1 same as non-SSF and you are just shooting yourself into feet. Character progression without trade is a bad experience, and gearing here is all built around the idea that you will be trading for upgrades much more often than you will get upgrades from grinding mobs. |

" I am not a fan of D3 and D4, but at least there you can get real upgrade. After they introduced Pits, you can really improve your gear, so playing has purpose. In PoE2 going to maps give me nothing. Poetrade has much better gear for just 1 ex, then I ever find on the ground, there's impossible to farm, you don't get richer, maybe just by gathering currency, exalt here, exalt there and in few hours I can upgrade part of my gear, but that's it. Once I reach the point I have 10-20x worth item per slot I have to farm now for weeks to get any upgrade, because best items cost hundreds of exalts, which hardly anyone has time to farm for. WDYM no uber bosses? Aren't there like 4 or 5 pinnacle bosses with 0-4 difficulty levels?
I will agree that the atlas progression system (do N maps of tier X) is boring. I miss filling out my sticker book with every map completion. (I can't hope to ever tackle pinnacle content so a complete atlas was a chase goal for me.) And yea, the endgame reveal trailer does a better job at explaining what to do than the game itself, but hey, it's not a finished game. But this is actually valuable feedback. Ascend with precision.

I feel the same as you do, so I am now slowing down on doing maps because it seems pointless.

If loot was better maybe, but we have many mechanics that are wasted potential.
Delirium, in theory cool concept, but problem is that every single combination for amulet requires parts that are gatekept behind rng wall - very rare so I will never touch it, since most are reds or at best tier 3-4, while most rare deliriums parts cost dozens of exalts. Rituals - so far the most disappointing mechanic, again - in theory great, but in practice the best thing I can get there is exalt, all the other currencies and gear is just pure trash and small area of combat make is high risk/low reward situation. Essences - I remember from PoE1, they made white item rare, here it just blue, so completely useless. Breach - what is happening on the screen I can't tell. I am using minions, so there's complete chaos and I can't see when I die due to ground effects, low framerate, pure chaos, lack of exciting drop again? Accidental death and map is gone, not fun. I don't even see when I die (mom, 1.5k hp +3k mana, 300 regen, capped res, only chaos is 60). Towers - annoying, especially for summoner, minions get stuck every door and since there's lack of teleport skill or any movement one like in PoE1, it's a slog without reward. Overall it takes me 10-15 minutes per map, faster on open locations, slower for narrow spots (+depending on level additional mechanic) and lot of backtracking. Summoner is very slow and due to horrible minion ai it's even worse. Shit design from Diablo 4 doesn't help. D4 is game, where instead of moving forward you have to look for levers and backtrack for objectives - GGG please don't that here. What I get from those 10-15 minutes? Best I got were 3 or 4 exalts + other minor currency. Then I go to to poetrade and item, which wouldn't be even godly, just upgrade compering to what I wear - costs 40-50 exalts or 1+ divines. Yeah, gl, it will take forever to grind for me 60 exalts for that. Not to mention that sustaining higher tier maps is getting harder by each tier. I got to t7+ mission and already have problems.
