My Trade Experience

Finished the campaign with an average of 20-40% ele res, 0% chaos res. Since I don't want to waste waystones or mapmods, I now need to fix my gear. Budget is tight and I want to replace probably at least 6 pieces since my gear wouldn't even be worth an ex if combined and imbalances are bound to occur.

I open the trade website to find that I am playing at an inopportune time, as 80% of items that are theoretically for sale are currently not available due to their seller being offline. That is somewhat sad because I instantly notice items that would have fit my criteria. But I press online only and move on. Starting with one category I find a piece that would not be my first choice, but will have to suffice, and message the seller. No response. I think to myself they are probably in a map and respond as soon as they are finished. I move on to the next category. The exact same scenario repeats for every single item category. I lose patience and message multiple prospective sellers for items that can barely be considered third choice. I don't like doing that because I experienced potential buyers just not going through with a trade but I don't have unlimited time to waste waiting. I still go one category at a time as I might need to adjust the type of resistance on others depending on what I actually end up getting. I do get the occasional trade but around 80% never respond. When checking back on the listing, some are gone, some are still listed while online and some are still listed but offline. The time I had set aside to play the game was spent refreshing trade, DMing people that don't answer and adjusting filters. I can tolerate this once at most. Others probably quit right there and I dread the moment I want to upgrade my gear again, because that will be when I quit.

In PoE1 the experience was slightly different as I usually had better ele resistances at the end of the campaign and chaos res was not very important until later. So I was always able to get through trading, also because pure resist rings were cheap and abundant.
In PoE2 I just can't handle it. Gear acquisition, which is usually the driving factor to come back to an ARPG, is the exact opposite right now.

Funny aside, if you accidentally misprice an item, even at a time where nobody seems to be trading, you instantly get swamped by hundreds of DMs the moment it gets listed. I can't imagine hundreds of people refresh spamming the exact item, at the exact time I mispriced it.

Please implement asynchronous trade in game. We already have the currency exchange. Make item trade cost gold if you want instant delivery. Leave the option to message a seller, even if offline, via mail system. If gold cost is dependent on price then there might even still be person to person trade for big items. But please don't expect me to go through that torture for 1-3ex items.

(Also make runes replaceable. Can't even use potential gear upgrades as they would alter my resists and no way to adjust.)

I 100% agree with that. The equipment store in this game is a terrible experience. The store should be IN GAME, like any other MMORPG. I tried to buy and sell twice and will not do it again. I prefer to try some maps with my vanilla equips over wasting my time with the selling/buying system.

Are there any plans to implement an IN-GAME auction house???
Yes, please implement in-game trading, allow player to list and buy items while playing the game.
The way it is now is filled with people who want to cheat players or just not going to sell cause offline/busy/afk. Trying to trade now is tragedy, waste of time and frustration-bomb.
